It claims to be both CJ4 and ACEA E6/MB228.51. If it meets the latter 2 specs it has DPF car and van engines (6xx engines). By "extrapolation", it COULD be usable in other mfgs' AdBlu/DPF engines, i.e. BMW and Audi for instance. Maybe even worth risking in a TDI VW after warranty, especially if TBN/wear issues arise on UOAs on dealer ACEA C3/VW507 oil.
The nearest Euro relative, Valvoline ProFleet LS 10W40
http://www.valvolineeurope.com/english/products/engine_oils/profleet/cid(628)/profleet_ls_10w-40/product-information
has a TBN of 12.
I might try it in my BMW X5 35d after my stash of $20/L Delvac 1 LE 5W30 runs out since the car is garaged.
I'd like to see a real spec sheet and elemental analysis, though.

Interesting. I wouldnt expect TBN issues on ULSD and low SAPS unless going a very long duration. Are you seeing something to the contrary?

Yes. 10000mi computer prescribed OCI, 9qt sump, 21 mpg city driving, using Castrol SLX Professional OE 5W30: TBN 1.5, TAN 4.83, Fe 94 (2nd OCI Fe 83, TBN still 1.5). I'll post my UOa with a 12-14000 mi OCI with the Delvac 1 LE.

Here are the specs it meets from the Valvoline website:

"UltraMax exceeds the highest performance requirements of all major US and European Heavy Duty Diesel Engine makers and Industry bodies: API CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF/SM, Cummins CES 20081; Mack EO-O PP; Volvo VDS-4; DDC 93K218; MB 228.51, 228.31; Caterpillar ECF-3; Global DHD-1; Navistar; MTU Type 3.1, 2.1; MAN 3477, M3575, M3271-1, Deutz DCQ-III, ACEA E9, E7, E6, E4."

I saw this on the Valvoline site a couple of weeks ago, and thought it was interesting that somebody developed a full synthetic 10w40 HDEO. But if it's low in Phos, I probably will stick with RT6 in my truck.

The US website doesn't state TBN unfortunately. But the most interesting feature is ACEA E6/MB228.51, meaning P & S low enough to run in AdBlu/DPF car type engines.

German trucks that use synthetic sometimes use 10W40, and some German cars can use truck synthetic oils....

Ah, thanks for clearing that up for me.

Valvoline is Valvoline)))
New oil, great specs "UltraMax exceeds the highest performance requirements of all major US and European Heavy Duty Diesel Engine makers and Industry bodies: API CJ-4, CI-4 PLUS, CI-4, CH-4, CG-4, CF-4, CF/SM, Cummins CES 20081; Mack EO-O PP; Volvo VDS-4; DDC 93K218; MB 228.51, 228.31; Caterpillar ECF-3; Global DHD-1; Navistar; MTU Type 3.1, 2.1; MAN 3477, M3575, M3271-1, Deutz DCQ-III, ACEA E9, E7, E6, E4", but no approvals for Ultramax Diesel 10-40:
MB - no https://bevo.mercedes-benz.com/bevolisten/228.51_en.html
MAN - no https://mmrepro.mn.man.de/bstwebapp/BSTServlet;jsessionid=00002O2KbyO46u3OC3kslPWOhTX:1063ccio5?ckey=produtkHerstListePDF
API CJ-4/CI-4 - no http://eolcs.api.org/licenseAgreementService.aspx?id=28

Great marketing team

It is probably too new to be on the spec lists yet. Valvoline Profleet is on the MB Operating Fluids lists 228.5 and 228.51 for the LS version.
It is the first oil I know of that meets CJ4 specs with E6/MB228.51 levels of metallic additives.
It takes a while for a new oil to show up on the MB list.
IMHO it promises to be a very good oil and with the E6 metal levels, potentially usable in "clean diesel" car type engines.
I hope more similar oils come out.

Charlie

let's wait. Today they do not have both MB 229.51 and CJ-4. To meet those specs lubricant should be tested according to engine tests norms

Oh, I agree. It isn't even available for sale til after 1/1 and the Valvoline technical line couldn't tell me the TBN.
But the concept of an oil meeting CJ4 and MB228.51/E6 is one I've been waiting for.
