This is a no-go for me. I’ll only use Fram’s cartridge filters for Toyotas.
For this application, Ecogard Premium S4610.

Thanks for the post. Looks like a lot less ripples on this one compared to the Endurance. Much less light. Seems like it would allow very little oil through.
I have certainly cut far more filters than posted - just don’t see much restoration force in these so called leaf springs …I guess the question is, how much pressure is exerted on the leaf spring when the filter is whole vs the OP after this C&P.
Thank you, OP. Much appreciated.
Nice post
This “new” style FE looks better. I would say first we should monitor if a change over indeed happens and continue with c&p’s. In another thread an OG Ultra was discovered built in 2024. Hopefully not a one off.Fram Endurance are safe to buy once again?
They are what i would call heat sealed IIRC. You'll rip the media before the seam on most of similar filters.Fancy stitch work on the seam or is it glued with a wire backing?
When I pay a premium for a high efficiency filter I don’t expect a leak path for dirty oil to bypass the media. Here is an example of a superior bypass design that doesn’t leak.People worried about perfect seal for bypass, can some please explain how this perfect seal works in canister style filters? Or there is no good seal in all canister style filters?
C’mon Glenda, give the people what they want. Let’s
