I like the eCore center tube with small windows and the wire backed media and metal end caps. Now if they would add a gasket at the leaf spring like the OG Ultra they would have the ultimate filter. The leaf spring looks to still have some slight ripples. I don't think the leaf spring is that flexible in the seat area to flex enough to seal totally unless it's already flat and ripple free.

I genuinely hope they switch the 3387A endurance to this style, I personally love E-Core, less risk of metal contamination, Its a proven design and no closed louvers.

Can you post a picture of the flashlight test while putting pressure on the spring?.

Considering Royal Purple has been using ecore cage for some time at least some applications, not all that surprising to see on FE. I too would like to see detail pics of the of the bypass piece seal area. The light seen on this one is about what I saw on my FE7317 c&p, perhaps more. Very little extra needed to replicate inside can spring tension. I'll reserve judgment with more c&ps that the baseplate change and ecore means seal area issue addressed. I wonder if all applications will now be ecore.

Thanks for c&p.
