IIRC the OCI is 30k km in Europe. Long OCI + big sump + big soot = big filter.

I thought so too. I figured it was a risky purchase but if it looks this good coming out it'll be my go-to.

Maybe? What would we compare it to? Has anyone seen efficiency data for Mann, Mahle, Hengst, Purflux, or any other OE cartridge filter manufacturer?

Spot on. It's the turbo diesel. When I 1st saw the dealer price for the filter, I said, "No. I just need the paper filter." Boy was I blown away and not in a good way. They will usually drop the price to like $35, but still...

While everyone else is going to smaller filters, VW goes in the opposite direction. My Roki 1WPE-14-302 might fit in that center hole.
