New tool thread

CTA 1189 extra deep sockets thru 21mm. This set isn't cheap but there was one on ebay for $140 and I grabbed it.

Also .155" trimmer line which I consider a tool for cleaning sunroof drains. Line this thick isn't that easy to come by so I just made a point of ordering some to have on hand.

Shinwa 12"/300mm rigid rule, 1mm thick. Got it from Amazon ($18). Apparently manufactured with American steel, if I interpret the label correctly. This is a high quality rule, with all markings engraved and filled with paint. I bought a 6" version of this rule about 18 months ago, but it grew some legs and disappeared.

That socket set looks handy! You got a good price. Is it 6pt or 12pt?

I looked online, they appear to be 6 point. Thats good for a long socket.

I've done a few Honda V6 timing belt jobs in the past and I have an oil pump reseal on one coming up.
I picked these up, they're specifically for the Honda V6. In the pic there are a pair of cam seal installers, a spark plug tube seal installer and a set of power steering pump/reservoir plugs. Wanted to see how durable they are and well they work, they're the first tools I've bought that are 3D printed.

Ko-kenUSA.com

1/4 Square Drive Bit Socket Torx T25, 50mm Z-series
1/4 Square Drive Bit Socket Torx T30, 80mm

Purchased for accessing and cleaning the 240 horn contacts. Access is via two T30 bolts on the back side of the steering wheel assembly. There is very little clearance between the instrument cluster and the steering wheel assembly.

As always with Ko-ken these are beautifully made tools.

If you ever use a Dake press that will be the one you really want. Expensive and worth it.

Dude you're turning me on! The ram that slides left/right is the bomb-diggity.

I've got a now-old 50T HF and it's pretty good but those Dakes are the Cadillac of presses. I do wish my ram was mobile on my HF but I can usually work around it.

I also want a ratcheting arbor press. I've got a large Dake non-ratcheting and it was free, so the price was right.....

The factory maintenance crew loves their 50-ton press {I think they like to break things with it} and a 25-ton is used in production all day pressing in bearings and shafts to make electro-mechanical actuators Geat press 15 yeas used daily and still going!

New USA made Tekton pliers. I misplaced my old slip joint pliers at some point over the last couple of years. I've found myself doing a few tasks lately where I just needed a good old plain jane pair of pliers, and struggling with whatever tool I was using in their place.

Source? I only have an old craftsman slip joint pliers and another pair would be worthwhile…
