New tool thread

IMO, these are worth every penny of the $147.66 plus tax I paid. The somewhat beefier design allows for the extension socket to transfer torque very effectively.

They really do but man they're bulkier than their SnapOn counterparts. I generally find myself wanting the SnapOns first because access is much improved when rubbing up against a driveshaft or something.

I dunno....they're burly but everything is a compromise. But yes, they transfer torque better due to their mass (and they're shorter than SnapOn)

Comparison with the Snap-On, but keep in mind that the Snap-On is a 3/8” drive.

Also, the Snap-On’s are for non-impact use only.

10mm 3/8" dr Astro next to Snappy.

The huge bulb under the socket can really hinder access.

And yeah, I use the Snap-Ons on my little 3/8" impact. I know I shouldn't, but I also shouldn't eat sugar (shrug)

But I've absolutely had the Snap-Ons rattle away and then swap to Astro and the bolt zips right out.

Volvo V70 lug nuts guides, M12x1.5

Nut end removed from bolts purchased from Belmetric.

~$4.00 vs $32 from a specialty Volvo parts store.

It sure makes changing tires a lot easier.

Yankee frugality. 😉

This is a good idea. I despise the lug styles of Volvo’s and other European cars.

I wonder what the reasoning is for these over the fixed threaded stud with a nut style

New jar for my Mityvac. My old one just started leaking after years, but everything looks fine. I ordered a knockoff from Amazon and it wouldn't hold vacuum AT ALL -- it went back via the UPS Store today.

I'm not sure why this is so complex, I feel like we have the technology to build a jar with a removable lid that doesn't leak?? I kinda want to make one from a Mason jar and install fittings in the steel lid.....but glass + concrete floor = risky

Anyway, bringing this in through O'Reilly was actually the least expensive option:

Also fuel line QC blanking caps. I swear every time I want to hook into a fuel line it requires three kits and even then I'm cobbling pieces together and trying to plug unused ports, etc etc:

I suspect to prevent thread damage while mounting rims.

In the past 2 years I have replaced the lug bolts on 3 of our 240s. All due to damaged threads. Chasing the threads didn’t help much.

Nepros NBR390AFL 3/8” drive flex head 90 tooth ratchet; 390mm, 15.38”

Yes, I lost my mind.

It is exquisite in the hand. Extraordinary machining and finishing.

I’m sort of hesitant to use it. God forbid I scratch it.

Surprisingly the back drag is a higher than my beloved Ko-ken 3/8” drives.

I have that one also, it’s a nice tool for sure. I do use my nepros but not much if I’m honest. They are more my “up town” ratchets lol
