New tool thread

I borrowed a really small, think it was HF air hammer when I was having issues with my Cummins fan clutch.

Borrowed it again when I was having issues with a stuck nut in a very precarious situation.

Decided it was time to get my own.

Also waiting on a Mayhew hammer attachment. I have a bunch of 20d 4” nails to drive, amongst many others for a roofing project. Need to be the right diameter and length. So I figured I’d try this gun alongside my palm nailer. May help avoid these:

That is a very good tool. The 717 is a very hard hitter and .401 attachments are cheaper and more types are available, it is a little smaller but like the 717 has incredible trigger control and still a big hitter. I would strongly suggest replacing the beehive retainer with a quick change retainer.

That quick change is in shipment. It was just sent separately.

I thought about the 717, but figured even this big one is probably overkill for my skills.

Sorry I wrote the wrong model first I meant the 714, it should have been this but too late to edit.

The 717 has too much power for many things, it is like breaking eggs with a sledgehammer but when you need it it delivers the goods, trigger control is everything and nobody does it better than CP.

Also got a US made Mayhew hammer. Looks just like a hammer striking face one would buy at the hardware store. I’m excited to use it on a 4” 20d nail!

Is redline air tool oil ok for breakin??

Do you own a pair of these Lisle pliers?

I ordered 12/30/23 according to my email. Haven't received yet.

They were on intergalactic backorder for some time, and perhaps still are based on the fact I don't have them yet.

BUT they're reappearing in the wild because I have it saved as an ebay search and have been getting emails at least a couple days/week for new listings. For awhile it was crickets, even on ebay.

@SubLGT alerted me to this deal…thank you!

It is a heavy ratchet for its size…but has a very solid feel.
Yours arrived quickly! I ordered one on Nov 23, and I expect it to arrive in a few days. I think it is delayed at a Fedex location in Oregon, because of very icy weather. I also ordered the long version ($64) a few days after Thanksgiving, and am waiting for that to ship from Japan.
