Bummer. Both sets of crowfoot (regular and flare) are US made and quite nice. I wouldn’t have bought if they were overseas.Taiwan.

It does not concern me where the tool is made if it gets the job done. All US made??
It does to me if a reasonable alternative exists that keeps money and jobs here. I was pleasantly surprised to see Tekton offering a number of US made items versus selling out to an offshore manufacturer. Some (many) things you just can’t help anymore, there’s no good option. But when there is…It does not concern me if the tool gets the job done.

I almost ordered one of their new 11" locking pliers w swivel pads today. I've already got a zillion from other manufacturers, but can never have enough at the fab table.Tekton Tools, tekton.com
1/4” drive T30 socket
1/4” drive, Universal joint sockets, 6mm - 14mm

I noticed today the 58" Icon pry bar I got (at HF of course) is US COOIt does to me if a reasonable alternative exists that keeps money and jobs here. Excellent. I’ve been pleased with everything I’ve gotten from them.Tekton has increased manufacturing of their tools in the US for the past 3-4 years.
I support Tekton for this. In addition to being a family held company.
I got the bulk pack of Mayhew pry bars a few years ago. Theyre everywhere.I noticed today the 58" Icon pry bar I got (at HF of course) is US COO
Everyone can use pry bars, so go treat yourself![]()
Add a piece of black pipe to the end of the busted handle ones. Wrap with baseball bat grip tape. More leverage and better grip…My ancient HF pry bars all the cheap plastic handles just started cracking and fell off in pieces.
I do have a $50 HF gift card and a $75 HD certificate............
Ok I didn't think of black pipe! I just wrapped the ends with tape. ThanksAdd a piece of black pipe to the end of the busted handle ones. Wrap with baseball bat grip tape. More leverage and better grip…
Yeah, just get the next biggger size and use tape and whatever else to make an interference fit (or tack weld it).Ok I didn't think of black pipe! I just wrapped the ends with tape. Thanks
It was also the case that the HyperToughs at WM were US-Wilde, but I think maybe they've clearanced those? My ancient HF pry bars all the cheap plastic handles just started cracking and fell off in pieces.

Those look better. The 1995 or so versions were super brittle, almost like a hard cheap cast resin. It was also the case that the HyperToughs at WM were US-Wilde, but I think maybe they've clearanced those?
Actually no, this handle looks like Wilde

The striking cap is key! It should (almost) be federal law you can't build a pry bar without a striking cap that goes straight to the bar bodyThose look better. The 1995 or so versions were super brittle, almost like a hard cheap cast resin.
Nice! Looks like one of my five Mayhew bars. If US made that’s really great. It was also the case that the HyperToughs at WM were US-Wilde, but I think maybe they've clearanced those?

I may be confusing Wilde and Mayhew. Those paint chips were so tasty when I was younger....Nice! Looks like one of my five Mayhew bars. If US made that’s really great.
Harbor freight isnt all that jerked up. Milwaukee pliers cost half what horror freight was selling the icon for.
No doubt the newer products from harbor freight aren’t decent I just don’t like over paying. Yes if I am going to buy a tool from overseas I do prefer Taiwan or Korean over China sometimes you get better steal quality and hardeningI would reckon to put the icon up against the Milwaukee pliers. They are actually really good. Some well I think all icons are basically duplicates of Snap-on popular pliers. Considering they hired away some snapon higher ups would not surprise me.
Some are even being made in the US right now. These inline strippers were. The flush cuts are Taiwan but the metal and grips on those are a close match to snap on
Guys HF is really really stepping up the game. The icon stuff is outstanding. Much of the new released us general branded or Doyle, Quinn etc is all completely usable as well.
There is still total junk there. No question. But there are tiers.
I am a huge snap on, Milwaukee, etc buyer and fan boy but the stuff is no joke. They will only continue to bring great items to market for MUCH less than snap on under the icon label
