New tool thread

View attachment 181828Advance Auto had some clearance sockets and various other leftover TEQ tools all of these were in a bin in the middle of the store not hanging on a rack or anything. Most of the stuff is rebranded Gearwrench like these sockets and stuff. The prices on the sticker isn’t what I paid because I also used my dad’s Speedperk rewards as well as having a friend who is the assistant manager there I got a pretty good price for them all. I like to keep the bigger sizes on hand for dad’s semi. I’m trying to build a set up to 2 inches. I think I have a 1 5/16 already but heck for the price they ended up being I could easily resell it if I wanted too. If I had to estimate I’d say I paid like $2.50-$3 for each thing. The small socket is a 20mm. I actually have used that size quite frequently for swollen lug nuts or Ford suspension bolts on my friends old Bronco. And other stuff too plus I collect 20mm sockets cause they are cool lol.

Thanks to everyone who recommended photo editing software to me. I bought some Adobe program that took forever for non technology me to figure out. This new phone takes huge photos so I have to resize all of them. I thought I added it onto my Apple account turns out it’s on the phone bill so now I’ll just have to give mom $10 every month she pays $30 for my line so not a big deal. She got a notification that it had been added and freaked out and thought the account had been hacked haha. I will figure out the program slowly but surely. I may cancel once I find a free one that works for Apple stuff.

I’m not up on the phone and photo saga of yours but I got a 15 pro and I was not able to post a pic here said it was too large. What i did was take a screen shot crop out the top and bottom and it was plenty fine size wise.

Dewalt dcf921. This is the atomic 20v 1/2 drive impact. I love the 3/8 and I got this for a great price with a power stack compact battery and charger.

If I was an octopus I could use all these battery impacts much more efficiently

Yes that’s what I have too. I’ve done the screenshot thing too. Glad I’m not the only one who has had problems.

I bought the Bosch 12v 3/8 brushless impact a few weeks ago because it really fits my needs, 89 ft.lb of torque, this thing is not small it is tiny and fits in almost anywhere. I have use their 12v driver for a few years and have been more than satisfied with it do I figured I would give this one a try. Bosch has a factory refurb center in the USA so the prices are good and the quality is good, this refurb had not one mark on it like it had never been touched, the other benefit was instead of 2 2A batteries they gave me one in the box 3A so I am guessing the unit was possibly returned for a bad battery or someone swapped in a bad battery and returned the tool.

The first thing I tried it on and never expected it to loosen was lug bolts on a VW that were torqued to 120nm 2 years ago, it impacted just a few times then took them right off, no trouble at all. I did a turbo on a Audi A4 yesterday afternoon with it and its small size did just what I bought it for it fits where nothing with a big battery hanging off the bottom will and did it with no trouble.
New week I have to do glow plugs and module on an late model BMW X5 3.5, this is another small tool job so I expect it to make its money back.

My only complaint and it is a minor one is the anvil is short and uses a spring type hog ring, I bought some flat top impact sockets from Capri that fit better than my old Proto ones making it a non issue but they could have made it 1/4" longer. The light is one of the best I have seen on a cordless tool, it uses a 3 LED ring light behind the anvil.
This tool is not a replacement for a regular impact for wheel nuts and larger jobs or a cordless ratchet is is a great addition and worth owning IMO.

If you come across a set of these or Hazet at a good price they are a lifetime tool, for quality, fit and durability else nothing else comes close not even Snap on. These Hazet are old but still in great shape, the newer ones are Stahlwille and a Hazet ball end for VW, notice the old MB diesel head bolt sockets 10 and 12.

I have the full set of 1/4" of those Stahlwille for about 10 years. They have held up well to frequent use. Fit fasteners very well. The black phosphate finish will allow rust if there is damp or wet, keep a light film of oil on them if that bothers you.

Nothing like buying the Chinese counterfeit version of somebody’s invention…
Well, the lock n lube is manufactured in South Africa, nothing like taking jobs away from workers in the USA?

Just fyi currently on sale prime day for 130 new

I said “someone’s invention”, not workers anywhere, right?

So it still looks like exactly what I stated, like it or not…
Whatever Bro? Mind telling me what you're pulling down a year? Maybe you have money to buy whatever you want, no matter the cost, but not I, I have to watch every penny, I'm only pulling down $14,400.00 a year. Not ashamed to admit it either. Imma guessing you never buy nothing at harbor freight then?
