I bought the Bosch 12v 3/8 brushless impact a few weeks ago because it really fits my needs, 89 ft.lb of torque, this thing is not small it is tiny and fits in almost anywhere. I have use their 12v driver for a few years and have been more than satisfied with it do I figured I would give this one a try. Bosch has a factory refurb center in the USA so the prices are good and the quality is good, this refurb had not one mark on it like it had never been touched, the other benefit was instead of 2 2A batteries they gave me one in the box 3A so I am guessing the unit was possibly returned for a bad battery or someone swapped in a bad battery and returned the tool.
The first thing I tried it on and never expected it to loosen was lug bolts on a VW that were torqued to 120nm 2 years ago, it impacted just a few times then took them right off, no trouble at all. I did a turbo on a Audi A4 yesterday afternoon with it and its small size did just what I bought it for it fits where nothing with a big battery hanging off the bottom will and did it with no trouble.
New week I have to do glow plugs and module on an late model BMW X5 3.5, this is another small tool job so I expect it to make its money back.
My only complaint and it is a minor one is the anvil is short and uses a spring type hog ring, I bought some flat top impact sockets from Capri that fit better than my old Proto ones making it a non issue but they could have made it 1/4" longer. The light is one of the best I have seen on a cordless tool, it uses a 3 LED ring light behind the anvil.
This tool is not a replacement for a regular impact for wheel nuts and larger jobs or a cordless ratchet is is a great addition and worth owning IMO.
