New tool thread

Snap On grease cap pliers from eBay, used. Once I saw these in the SMA vid posted here in the "rear axle delete" thread about a Kia (or Hyundai?) I figured they looked useful....plus, it was a tool I didn't have!!

Capri 14 x 15mm, 0 degree offset, Extra Long, Box End Wrench

The 240 sedan has a remote oil filter mount which sits just over the top engine mount nut. Plus the nut is recessed in the engine mount bracket.

This tool allows me to remove the nut without removing the remote filter mount. I’m really pleased.

Snap-on Tuesday today. My favorite day of the week. Got the last pocket pry bar. Everyone was grabbing them left and right so all that was left was orange LOL. But that’s ok as everyone knows I have lots of orange. Also picked up a set of metric flare nut wrenches as well. I believe Snap-on does them best. I figured on those buy once, cry once.
@AutoMechanic any chance that you could post up a pic of inside the hex? I’d like to see how smooth the hex broaching is.
I recently had a conversation with an engineer from a large race fitting company and he told me that the best anodized fitting line wrench’s are a hard chrome finish on a wrench that has real smooth broachings and fairly new.

Do you count this as a tool or equipment? I say it’s a bit of both haha. Got this for around $23 at Advance Auto. Gave us employee discount and my dad had some speed perks. They asked me so no hand tools today? 😂. I bought another one because I had three but two of them I took to empty and they are so old they cracked so I’ll be getting rid of them and using the two I have now. The other one I have is a 16 quart one. Intended to get the one with no top as then you avoid any splatter but for the deal I got on this one I’m happy. I really like this one I just changed the oil in my Camry with it now moving on to the Escape and truck.

Tractor Supply and Harbor Freight haul. Brass punch set from Tractor Supply. Excellent when you need them. Was happy to find a USA made set. I went to a different location today and they had tons more tools than mine does.

From Harbor Freight I got a green knife to complete my set of those colorful knives. And another battery terminal cleaner brush as I have practically worn my other ones out. Two 16oz ball peen hammers I got two because it’s my most used size. I have two at work in the box so I got one for the cart then one will be for home. Some hand cleaner that my coworkers talk highly about so I figured I’d give it a try. Then some plastic pop rivets that are handy when you need them. Got those for home as they provide them at work. Got another box of gloves while the sale was still going on and some funnels as I can’t ever find my funnels when I need them lol.

Craftsman 3/8” straight ratchet, 11.75“ handle, 72 teeth, quick release

I wanted a straight 3/8” drive with a handle between my 8-9” and 18” handled drives. (A 13” handle would be perfect - I couldn’t find one.)

The head is a bit thick - 17mm. It is heavy and has a solid comfortable feel. I also like that it has 72 teeth, not the 100+ nonsense. Made in Taiwan.

It should serve me well.

New wire brush branded Lincoln Electric. Coworker got me for since he left one of mine under a hood. I told him they are disposable so don’t worry about it but he insisted so I got a really big one now lol.

The Proto J5250HTC (Precision 90 series) has overall length of 12.6 inches. At around $100, it's probably a good bit pricier than the Craftsman, which seem to be good ratchets.

As luck would have it the screw that holds the shift lever fell out. Along with the lever. The threads are stripped.

Returning tomorrow. Makes me hesitant to buy Craftsman again.

Here you go. Sorry for a late response. Hope these pictures help. Very very smooth broaching and amazing quality. It is the same for all of them no quality difference at all. Not like some of the cheap ones where one has chrome on the inside and the other doesn’t.
