While at the beginning stage of washing the 4R, I turned on the electric pressure washer and there was an audible "SNAP" and then nothing. Turned it on/off, hit the safety on/off...nothing. It was a freebee and about $90 retail six years ago so I knew this day was coming.
So...I got an AVA GO+. It has a few things the old one didn't and better features, including a 10 warranty! My CC cash back rewards paid for more than half of it, too!

just sold my hf-start pulse TIG and got a new MIG. i don't TIG a lot so lift tig is fine (lift tig works great in this machine)

After having various types of air/blow guns for typical around the house use I decided to set them aside and get what looks to be a quality all-in-one for any situation I will likely ever see.
Also decided to pass the Kobalt quiet compressor I had for 10 yrs to a family member and get something a bit more capable/robust.

New oil filter wrench after using countless grip-style, band-style, a cheap, pressed-metal from Amsoil, and a Lisle wrench which only removes filters (yes, I know... hand tighten <blah>-<blah>-<blah>). Think P-style gasket.
This filter wrench fits Honda filters, and more. Tested on the Pentius and it had a little bit of play, but is rock solid on the Carquest Premium. It's on the speedy side at ~$30, but a nice chunk of aluminum, superb packaging, and Made In the USA

I have this for my Toyotas. It fits both the factory spin on filters as well as the housing for the cartridge filters perfectly. I have it for Toyota because they claimed it was the latest greatest, but I still prefer the old style that also goes up and grabs the two to four tabs (some are 1/1 and some are 1/3). I'm still on my quest to rid the world of Toyota's plastic housings. I've got like 5 or 6 down and five or six million to go.....

What a pompous prick....."I don't install used engines", Every car he works on has a used engine in it! Get over yourself....A good engine is a good engine & there are ways to check one out before install.
Sure they're OK if not overtightened. If you haven't run into an overtightened plastic housing you need to do more oil changes. On a lift you have plenty of leverage; not so good on your back in the garage.
Toyota went back to the regular(?) oil filters after a few years of these. Perhaps they had a reason for it?
I have 2 cars with the housing style; a GS350 and an RX450h. Lame.

I only work on my own vehicles, all of which are Toyotas. I have a 2013 FJ Cruiser and 2021 Highlander with the plastic housing. Do all the oil changes myself. Never had an issue with an overtightened housing. The O ring is what makes the seal, not the housing to engine junction. Tighten and torque to specs and you won't have an issue. Also have 2020 Corolla, 2022 RAV4 and 2023 Corolla Cross that all use the YZZN1 spin on filter.
Yep, no problem if the housing was installed correctly, or at least not too overtightened. The problem is, it's an accident looking for some place to happen. The great indy shop that helps me out keeps aluminum spares on hand; they've seen overtightened, cracked when aged, broken ears, etc. And DIYers have brought in their Toyotas with stuck composite housings.
Of course an overtightened conventional oil filter can be a problem as well, but you are generally using your hand, not a socket wrench.
Regardless, keep up the good work!

The new Snap On metric tap/die set that is supposedly made in-house.
List price is a lot of wood for carbon steel not HSS. Made in USA are probably Irwin as they have a long history of using their products.
It’s supposedly no longer Irwin. That relationship ended a few years ago.
I find it ......well, 100% impossible that Snappy tooled up domestically to create better cutting tools than factories that make Hertel, OSG, Cleveland, Guhring, C/L (Chicago Latrobe), UB (Union Butterfield), Kennametal, Sandvik and on and on
Never worked in a real machine shop that used tool truck cutting tools.
Now, maybe it's good stuff although I too would prefer to see HSS. But it ain't superior. OTOH I'm selling ocean front property here in CO at fire sale prices. Taking reservations now!!
