New tool thread

I've been eyeing this for quite a while and decided to pull the trigger.

Nepros 3/8"sq. Long Ratchet Handle (90-Tooth)

I got the wrench yesterday, the quality imo is better than Snap On.

It's a tool that will probably get very little use because it's really nice. lol It even comes in a box which is like a display case of sorts.

Just got another one of those too, it was the 45 degree bend, I have the straight and 90 degree. They are so handy in many of the things I work on and I like to keep a few tools in each car, just in case...Hyper Tough 11-Inch 45 Degree Long Nose Pliers. I was itching to go to the pawn shop too, but luckily they would be closed by the time I got there. I have gotten many tools from there you think you'll never use, but then come the time when you need it...used to go through Sioux Falls S.D. and hit as many pawn shops as possible on the way to the family reunion, I really like that city. Our local has only Pawn America and they don't offer a bucket of smalls like wrenches and sockets per peice, I've gotten many one of a kinds digging through bargain piles.

Told ya! Seriously like we were talking about a couple of days ago at almost 65 who the heck are we keeping them pristine for? My kids don't want them, so they either get donated to the trade school for kids that cant afford decent tools and need a start (my wish) or the wife flogs them for 10c on the dollar to some schmoe on Ebay or Craigslist. Frig that nonsense use them like you would any other tool and enjoy using it.
Pretty though aint it.

LOL You're right buddy. Hopefully when it comes time for my stuff to go, the good Lord allows me to be on R&R and not see the fire sale prices my stuff gets sold for.

Oil filter pliers. Before working professionally I never needed oil filter tools but it seems more and more are seized on nowadays. Now even though I don’t remove many oil filters I like having these as they save time from having to dig out my claw style oil filter tool. I was using my dads vintage ones from the 1970s but my coworkers tend to borrow without asking and I keep having to keep my eye on those so they came back home Friday and these will be going instead.

Also got these there too. The 3 inch extension was cool don’t think I’ve got one that size I have a couple two inch ones. The 10mm well you gotta have that size plus mine the detents wore out so it slides off. Got the 14mm to replace my SK I cracked and still haven’t gotten a response back and I don’t talk on the phone so I didn’t call them or anything. The 14mm deep because I hardly have any 14mm deep 6 points. Unfortunately I grabbed a China made one without paying attention it’s old stock from 2018 but oh well. And the 7mm my darn coworkers destroyed with an impact removing Ford underskirts so I got another one and they won’t be using it on impacts this time.

I decided to delay a little on asking for a warranty from Craftsman because I don’t want them to suspect anything is up. I just got more warranty stuff in today from both Stanley and Craftsman so I will get it posted later. I know I need to stop letting my stuff be used but if they would hire someone with tools then that would be great. Ok rant over and hope you enjoy the tools 🙂.

Warranty replacement tools. Craftsman 15mm universal joint was completely frozen up. The 11/16 moves freely. So they sent me the universal joints and a deep 15mm socket since they don’t offer the universal joint sockets individually.

The second picture is a bent Stanley wrench I finally talked myself into getting because they wanted me to pay shipping to send it back I told them that is not happening. They are supposed to be sending a screwdriver as well so we will see if they do.

Duralast 16mm-18mm flange nut wrench, 20mm, 22mm 3/8” drive, 6 point sockets.

I used the 16mm flange nut wrench to change out PS high pressure line on the 240 wagon.

The 20mm and 22mm sockets complete my 3/8” 6pt socket line up. I now have 6mm to 23mm with out skips. 🙂

I love 3/8" drive, but seems they are the least popular size here in europe. Unfortunately 1/4" is often too weak or too small handle and 1/2" too bulky when working in an egine bay.

Ok this is likely going to be funny....but presently we all talked about using a Turkey baster for a brake master cylinder change. I could find mine and then remembered I had to use 2 one I had and another when I cut the old one to short for a project. So I needed to replace my Turkey Baster in my tool box.

I was going to get the same old common 100 year old (LOL) style Turkey baster when ....WOW welcome to the Marvelous and wonderful modern world we all live in.

SUPER BASTER. It will hold the fluid. No more needing to put your figure over the end to prevent dripping all over you engine . LOL

Yes, most of the sets sold were 1/4 and 1/2, The top brands were always available in 3/8 for a price and usually only from dealers like Hoffman and Stahlgruber in the days before the internet sellers.

I still use the SK socket set I bought in 1968. Oddly enough, the only socket I ever broke was a 14mm.

Milwaukee M18 Top-Off Portable Charger. Powerbank on steroids with a 175W power inverter, 45W USB-C PD/12W USB-A charging and the ability to swap batteries. With the XC6.0Ah 108Wh battery it can charge my M1 Macbook Air approx. 2 times.

Only downside is a 6 hour timer when on so it can't be used as a constant power supply.

Yes. I wonder if Makita will follow?
I’m sure hoping!

I’ve got about a dozen of the Makita 18v li-ion batteries for various tools* so having that capability would be nice.

*two drills, impact driver, 1/2” impact wrench, recip saw, string trimmer, flashlight, LED work light, oscillating multi tool, leaf blower, and a job site radio.

edit: close, a USB charger. Sure would like the 110V option like that Milwaukee
