New tool thread

New old Sun Electric Manifold Vacuum gauge I found while cleaning up the garage.

There have been a limited (very limited) number of times I've wished for a pass-thru socket set in the shop. I decided to go ahead and get one, but wanted it as comprehensive as possible.

I'm not a GW fan in general but this 8946 kit is very comprehensive as such things go. I got it for $80 on Warehouse Deals and it appears new. Compared to lesser kits with WAY fewer pieces that might only cost $20 less, this kit is a great value.

The metric side goes WAY down to 3.5mm, which is impressive. The 4 or 4.5 might be good for old school headlight adjusters?

I recently needed a 26mm stubby wrench but couldn't find one. Carlyle lists one but you can't actually order. Ditto for SP Tools. So, I ordered the cheapest I could find on Amazon which was a Sunex and will make my own.

Also:
- 26mm crow foot for the same application
- 11" duckbill snap ring pliers as I only have 9" right now
- Kennametal CNMG inserts for the lathes
- a deep oil pressure sensor socket as I only had the shallow
- IAG hose clamp pliers (nice wide jaws to bridge some of those annoying clamps)

What did you need a 26mm for? The only thing I’ve used that on is a hot water heater element.

Seems to look like black anodized Snap On wrenches never seen them like this before only chrome.View attachment 272014View attachment 272015
Snapon calls that industrial finish. I have a couple large wrenches that I bought in industrial finish because they were a bit cheaper than chrome. The downside is they arent as easy to see as a chrome tool so if you set it down somewhere its not obvious. Not a huge deal on a 1 1/4" wrench
