New tool thread

I have probably had 3-4 air compressors over the years and my current one developed a pinhole at the bottom. I know, I drain it pretty frequently but I bought it used years ago.

I decided to buy my first brand new compressor and settled on an eight gallon unit from California Air Tool and I love how quiet it is. It will be perfect for light use in my shop and the best part is that I got one with an aluminum tank.

Got this as an upgrade/ warranty replacement for a set of tools I was sent to review at Christmas by someone. After I gave feedback and the other guy that did it too they sent us these as replacements because the ones we got were so bad. We got just the standard sets for Christmas from that guy then when he emailed they said they would upgrade us so I’m excited to try these out. This is my first time using the modern V series tools from them. I haven’t looked at the retail price of this set yet but I’m sure it’s expensive as most of their stuff is a bit overpriced. But either way free is free.

How much?

You sold me on QUIET

OEM Oil filter wrench, needed a bigger one with a long handle. Build quality is impressive.
Lisle disconnect set, have AC work in the future.
8 inch and 16 inch SATA pry bars. Have the 29 inch already and it moves mountains, cant wait to use these smaller ones.
Astro 78318 Nano 3/8 ratchet. I have had the low profile socket set for awhile and love it, but only just now bought its intended ratchet.
Astro 94222 large snap ring pliers, might be rebuilding a transfer case.

Another tool haul this week, upgrading existing tools and moving the old ones to ranch property.
Icon 1/2 24 inch breaker bar. I have had two pittsburgs in the past. I broke one of them, and the other one will get moved to ranch property.
Icon Long reach pistol grip pliers, it has a snub nose to help remove screws or bolts. Its kind of an edge case tool, but looking forward to using it.
Icon Long needle nose pliers, my original pittsburg long need noses are still going strong, but it was time to upgrade.
Icon 1/2 hex socket set, and 3/8 hex socket sets. Both were on sale or clearance. Have a pittsburg set that these will replace.
Ryobi brushless die grinder.
Mayhew T40, and T45 screwdrivers. I really really like these and may buy more.

Nice haul!

A few things mostly motorcycle related:

Can't recall what they call this type of spanner but I only had 2 before and they never seem to work for what I was using them for so I got this whole kit. They are quite thick and seem well made, it was just some random Amazon brand.

I bought this grinder while waiting on parts for one of my other ones. Assembled in USA but that may or may not be a good thing, it is good quality, runs smooth and the variable speed is perfect for what I want to use it for. Not too expensive but not inexpensive either, I prefer the paddle switch and this is a good one.

Just a hook spanner (as opposed to a pin spanner)

I had modified my larger 4-prong axle nut spanner socket for GM 7.25 IFS carrier bearing adjusters. I had to just barely sand the teeth to narrow them slightly, but wasn't sure how well it would still work for the original application. Thus I ordered a replacement on ebay -- was only about $16

I don't run into too many non-unit-bearing axles these days but they ARE still around here in the land of minimal rust
