New tool thread

The company I worked for was adamant that knives would not be used for anything . They bought all sorts of different cable strippers but nothing ever worked to my liking . I perfected my technique using a knife with a sheepsfoot blade and that's what I used until I retired . It's a personal choice though . Whatever works for you .
Used it today on an old YellowJacket. For a hack like me who doesn't do this that often, it was perfect. Exactly what I wanted

At that price, I would have bought the two batteries and charger, and been very happy…
It is a very good deal

But I have 4 M18 batteries and a charger 🤷‍♂️
I try not to exceed a 1:1 tool:battery ratio, as I do not do this for a living
I own 4 M18 tools, and I don't think I'll be using them all at once
I have to draw a line somewhere

If you wanna flip the battery/charger for a modest profit, that's also a good option
Not all of the ones on eBay/CL/FB are stolen
Some are 🙄, but not all

You do this by capitalizing on the way HD structures it's free tool bundles

I got lucky on this one, I ordered in the app on the way to the store, cancelled the battery bundle in the app 2 minutes after ordering
That way I never pay for the battery, so I don't have to return it

I walked in to pickup, they handed me my Christmas present 🥰

There's nothing illegal or immoral about it IMO 🤷‍♂️
It's their policies that let you do this
I wonder how much longer it'll last 🤔
Why would I buy on eBay/LetGo/Craigslist for more and not have a receipt/warranty 🙄
$97.44 is a notable savings on ~$195
Unless you need the batteries/charger

Happy hunting 🤌

I have that inflator. It is the BEST inflator I have ever owned. Milwaukee warranty is hard to beat. Good job on that price too.

ohhhhhhhh l like that t wrench!
Who makes that for Tekton, or do they make it?
It's just another split beam. It didn't fare all that well against the Icon and even the Olsa. But Tekton said they were addressing that and I'm sure it's fine. They're nice but the Icon is --or was-- comparably priced and seems nicer. IIRC the Icon has a higher tooth count. Precision is of course another player in this market.

I'd totally run the Tekton if it were given to me, but when I was shopping it didn't feel like the best value, all things considered. That said, Tekton tends to have fantastic warranty support and you get 10% back in their loyalty program

Tecton is a great company!

We done Secret Santa on another forum and here is all the goodies I got from the Santa over there. He has asked that I use the Chinese and Taiwan made Craftsman tools at my job in exchange for a real life review so I will be doing that. My favorite gifts here are the Malco Eagle Grips and the $20 bill and the little Kobalt box. I’ve been wanting a little box like that forever. My actual Secret Santa is who sent the stuff in the last picture and the other fella is who sent everything else. He sent me a bunch last year too.

Got this from my parents. Along with a few other things but this is the only tool. Unfortunately some low life stole it out of the package so have to go swap it out for one that has it in there. Hopefully they still have them. I don’t like returning stuff but when you receive an empty box it kinda sucks. They didn’t realize the seal was cut on the back of the package.

Paperhangers have been using something similar for decades to hold a razor blade. They can come in quite handy.

Set of three Rigid extension cords from HD for $78. Couldn't believe how much extension cord prices have gone up. A good one is like $35 each now, so buying in bulk, these were a more reasonable $26. Made in Philippines. Is that any better than China? This has a light in the female end to let you know if the other end is plugged in. Can it be left plugged in indefinitely?

Wow and only 14AWG (which I bet they cheesed on)

You can leave it plugged in at your own discretion

I have two old cords held together in numerous places with electrical tape, so this will be a great improvement. I usually have one left plugged in all the time at the front porch going out to the driveway. Looks like a tiny neon bulb so doubt it uses even 1 cent a month in power. No sure the meaning of cheesed, but it is the color of cheddar.
