I just did this on a Subaru. I wasn't satisfied with how my BluePoint crimper closed the clamp. I kissed the cutting edges of a Channelock pair of flush cutters with my sanding disc so they wouldn't cut but rather "mash" and finished off the crimp. It worked reasonably well. Some guys use them to crimp the bands on a CV boot too!
Being careful of course.
Anyone tried this little guy:

It’s a simple machine. Both run.Do they both always run or can you select just one to use?
Years ago I had an import 6x48 Palmgren from Amazon. I worked that thing to death, probably 70% aluminum and 30% steel. No woodworking for me.View attachment 192659
It could be bigger and a little noisy but works great!! Need to mount it up and give it a work out.....maybe after I get my scroll saw!! hahahaha
This little guy is for wood projects. Yeah I mean not even the motor could handle it. I would like a nice 2" wide, long belt for metalYears ago I had an import 6x48 Palmgren from Amazon. I worked that thing to death, probably 70% aluminum and 30% steel. No woodworking for me.
It performed admirably, but finally died. It owed me nothing. I did replace with an old-school Rockwell which is in another league, but that old Palmgren was decent for the money.
Who had the best price on those if you please?Far left: Proto 11mm hex in 1/2" drive. This is their RBRT-esque hex so I have to remember it's not Torx!
Matco hex set topping at 11mm. I have 7/16" hex but for some reason I wanted some also labeled as 11mm
M18 battery pack. Home Depot had a promo and it just made sense to pay a little more and get the batteries. I can always use Milwaukee batteries.
I paid around $62 after a coupon from this seller. Appears to still be offered as I type this:Who had the best price on those if you please?
LOL Got Y'a!Not my auction, no affiliation, void where prohibited, YMMV etc etc
Good on Matco for included the 9mm and 11mm in a set. Ford seems to use them on brake calipers here and there. Can't say I've ever needed either one otherwise.I paid around $62 after a coupon from this seller. Appears to still be offered as I type this:

There was also like ~1 year around '99 that Dodge used 9mm on Ram 1500 caliper bolts. It was rare but I came across them on a '99 1500.Good on Matco for included the 9mm and 11mm in a set. Ford seems to use them on brake calipers here and there. Can't say I've ever needed either one otherwise.
