I was in desperate need of replacement torque wrenchs. Watched the torque wrench test between harbor freight, tekton, and snap on.

Went to Harbor freight to buy the torque wrenches, but couldn't pull the trigger spending that kind of money at Harbor freight for the wrenches, even though they had very favorable reviews.

Tekton sells the half inch and three eights together at a bit of a discount. Both tekton direct and Amazon sell the pair at the same price, went with Amazon out of convenience.

I was nicely surprised to see a Tekton corrugated box for the set ,and then individual corrugated boxes. It sets a tone of quality and confidence. I know one can be fooled by a nice box and inferior product.

Cost for the set was $245 before taxes, shipping was free.

You get free shipping at Tekton.com and 10% back in loyalty points/funny money/whatever. But it works with no restrictions.

I didn't know tekton made a beam torque wrench. It looks a lot like the precision crf250.

Had you ordered on the Tekton site you would have avoided tax and had 10% towards your next purchase. 😉

Please post how you like them. Tekton is a great tool at a great price. I have a 1/4 drive set. Super handy; leave the plastic box open in a tool drawer or close it to take it with you.

Wanted a set of 3/8” dr impact sockets for SAE - mainly for oil filter caps (7/8 and 15/16) and household applications. Went with GP and semi-deep….not seeing any difference between GP and Sunex. Just different colored boxes?
22mm can be used on 7/8" & 24mm can be used on 15/16", I consider these direct crosses like 8mm to 5/16", 11mm to 7/16", 16mm to 5/8", & 19mm to 3/4"

OEMTOOLS 12pt axle nut socket set.

.035 flux from TSC. $15. Even ten years ago tiny spools of flux under $8/lb were a great deal. My "cordless" Hobart Trek needs the baby spools, and it's gotta be flux since it's always outdoors

From Matco.com:
1/4” dr 8mm, 10mm, 14mm impact swivel sockets.

From eBay:
3/8” dr 19mm impact swivel socket (old stock)

Note the difference between the old stock and new - old stock shows USA.

Regardless, these things are extremely nice - very very smooth and extremely compact. But for the price, they should be.

I still have a few more on the way - when done, I plan to have 1/4” dr 8/10/12/14mm and 3/8” dr 10/12/14/17/19mm.

I got this set today. For free actually. We have a close family friend who was a diesel mechanic in the 80s and 90s and this was one of his tools. He stopped by my dealership today with his Tacoma and needed some work done. He told the service advisor he wanted me to do the work and then told me personally that he left me a tool in the front seat. He said all his tools just sit now because he can’t get down on the ground anymore or anything like that. A free tool is a free tool lol. Especially when it’s Snap-on. This is the old logo Snap-on on the driver too. My coworkers were jealous as heck. They are like you have been getting a lot of free tools and stuff lately. He told me if he finds anymore stuff he doesn’t need or thinks I’d like to have that he would bring it by.
