Well, it's probably not red. Probably blue. And can you use gold. This is what the internet says. I take delivery next week. It was one third of msrp so... I wanted something faster than my other cars.
That's what I like to see! Leather seats that were taken care of. Looks great! (y)

It runs like a raped ape scalded with oil. Shifts come fast and hard like its going to break something, every one who I've given a ride to are shocked. I have no complaints about anything.

You would have been in for a ride had it just been a run-of-the-mill used MB with that many miles on it. If you're really buying a car that's already been messed with and blown up once, I'd say you're in for a heartbreak.

Used high-end MB's aren't for the faint of heart or the shallow pocketed among us. It takes bucks to start fixing those things when they break, and they are going to break. I wish you the best of luck.

Cruising around the net, found this, if you haven't, you might want to bookmark it. Looks like a great list of common problems and fixes, could be very handy.

Back when I worked at Acura, we had an MB dealer in our group. Heard some horror stories. Best one was somebody who bought a used AMG ML from Montreal (about a 2 hour drive away) Left Montreal, did not even make it to Ottawa. Engine seized. Had it towed the rest of the way. Estimate to repair was over $100k. He left it there.

At least he got to enjoy it for an hour.

What year was that? The early 6.3 liter engines had bad head bolts, so from 2007-2011 were bad until they had new head bolts. Of course when the head bolts went, you blew the head gasket and the engine seized. Those AMG engines were about 25k, but maybe it came down in price or you're talking Canadian. You could just replace the head bolts in advance for about 1k. So I guess that's 1k of prevention worth 100k of cure.

I guess you didn't read the thread from the beginning... I thought I was into it like the other posters above warn, but so far, it's good. Whatever they did to fix it after they blew it up - so far, so good.
Oops! Yeah I missed Wolf’s post! Those cars have such good sounding engines

they only seized if you were dumb enough to not see a cloud of smoke. destroying a hydraulic lifter and dropping a valve is another story

anyways different car different engine different problems

Yes it sounds good even though it's the 5.5 biturbo. I made them do an oil change to observe the oil and filter for debris, do all the recalls and codes, put in the proper sparkplugs indexed properly.
