The steering wheel is like my old 05 Grand Prix. Im good with the GM interiors. I do like the HUD

All my stuff, every single car except the Duramax, get Mobil 1 5w30 changed at about 4000 miles

Didn't look at the spare, but the Trans Am had one for a week of ownership...why start now. 😉

It is standard GM fair, so easy for me to work on or fix.

Beautiful ride!
As a euro car snob, even I can appreciate the great value these cars provide over their euro competition (M3 etc).
kudos on the purchase!
Right now the C6 offers the best value in used Vettes. C5s are amazing and priced well but it’s getting harder to find parts for them. The C7s are still priced really high on the used market (and they were back when I bought mine too which is why I ordered it new because the price really wasn’t that much more than a used one)

C6 is by far my favorite Corvette. I would love one.

Next time I’m in Bremerton I call shotgun!
Let me know man i will throw you the keys. Not the Caprice though. I can't replace that. Find me another one never in service, one without holes in the body from police work.

I'm back from walking the dog. It's annoying question time.
So, is there a rag top built in or no? Under that glass?
Truly love the spiral bound notebook.
As Oillover alluded to, there are refreshing elements of American car...flavor....proportion, familiarity and straightforwardness found in Corvettes...always has been.
In the name of equal time, settling on a US sedan dashboard and some material choices could've been made with other designers in the room.
Did you, by chance, fill 'er up when you took delivery such that you can post/boast the real mpg of your trip home?
It came with a "jack and a can", yes? See if the cans expire.
Going to Pep Boys for applique' plastic numbers..366 on each fender (6.0l = 366.3 cu. in.), like the 392 on some Challengers?
Also, seriously, are you saying a 'Vette wouldn't come with CAI (of any sort) from the factory? What brand was installed?

What kind of oil do you intend using?
These things are great on fuel. I can easily get 30mpg on flat land at 70mph, and 31 at 65mph. Mine is bone stock with the 6 speed, base Vette, not a Z51, so it has a slightly taller final drive ratio. The only time I went any distance at 65mph was when I was taking it home and knew the harmonic balancer was showing symptoms of coming failure, which is typical around 60k. Mine had 58k when I bought it.

I´d bet that Z71 with the goodies on it would get 27 or 28mpg, which is still amazing for the approximate 430hp it will put out and with the shorter diff ratio. I´d be curious as to what it will do, if OP can keep his foot out of it. LOL! That´s VERY hard to do!

That steering wheel is nicer than my 07. Mine looks like it came out of a Cobalt. LOL.

Yes the harmonic balance will be replaced. I had to do the Caprice's once too

Looks super clean. Just curious, where did you find it listed?
Marketplace.

This was my best MPG with my C6, I drove for an hour at 60mph on a flat stretch of highway 403 just before it meets up with the 401 in London Ontario

BTW, all 6 speed manual C6s came with a 3.42 rear end, whether it was Z51 or base.

Wow, LOL! Maybe even when I think I am keeping my foot out of it....I am not.

Ok, good to know on the gearing. I swore I read the Z51 had a higher ratio. Of course, what could be done with it? It can´t get all the power down off the line with 3.42, anyway.

The fun part is getting all the maintenance up to speed.

When I brough mine home just over 3 years ago, it had 58k on it, it had a CEL the previous owner thought was the gas cap. It turned out to be an evap canister solenoid, which was cheap and fortunately, I have long arms and was able to get up underneath and reach up around the drive shaft, IIRC, to replace it. It took me awhile, but I was motivated to save $200.

So heré´s all I did....
  • Oil/filter change (Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5w30 but now running Mobil 1 0w40 Supercar)
  • Fram paper air filters to replace the K&N drop-ins previous owners had used.
  • Windshield wiper blades
  • evap solenoid
  • harmonic balancer
  • transmission fluid (Mobil 1 ATF)
  • serpentine belt.
  • hoses
  • coolant drain/fill
  • clutch fluid swap (a little at a time with a turkey baster)
  • rear diff fluid (AC/Delco LS diff fluid specified for this application)
  • alignment
  • balancing of tires.
I also gave it a good detailing. I did have to use some Eagle 1 Nevr Dull to rub some corrosion out of the chrome on the wheels. That stuff is amazing and made them like brand new.

I added a Pioneer head unit with wireless Android Auto/Apple Car Play, as well. And now this car is perfect.

I wish I had the clear top like OP. That is the one missing thing that I´d like to have.

Next up will be brake pads that produce less dust. It´s still on the factory pads and they have plenty of life left at 68k miles, but I hate the dust. The previous owners were super easy on this car, according to the brake pad life left. Tires are the Continentals and they have plenty of life left. I really like them. Not the best grip in the dry, but they are good enough (fun to slide the tail around) and they are superb in the wet and last a long time.

I´m hoping sometime in the next year to take it to the Tail of the Dragon in NC, the Triple Nickel in Ohio, and The Snake in Eastern Kentucky for some fun drives. Oh.....and soon....the Corvette Museum and part of the Kentucky Bourbon Trail. Btw, this car was delivered to it´s first owner at the museum. It has the commemorative sticker inside the door jam.

@ls1mike tell us what all you are going to do and post up pics along the way! Looking forward to seeing it come along!
