Looking for advice on what all has changed with the Rotella T6, is it still a good go to oil for Turbo Subarus?
I tried using the search feature but it keeps giving me off topic results.

Thoughts on the changes? I believe it changed late 2016 to a new formula.

With the new Rotella CK-4 oils non SM/SN approved, use in gasoline engines should cause cataclysmic engine damage.................... Not really

Which T6 ... There is a 5W-40 and a 5W-30. The 40 has not changed all that much. The 30 is down some on Ph and Zn.

They dropped the SN ratings, but still have all the others like JASO-MA, etc. Suspect they don't want to have to adhere to API gasoline spark engine ratings for some of the oils ...

I would/will have no loss of confidence for use in my Turbo Saab (40 version)

Sorry didn't list weight, I've been running the T6 5W40 in my subaru for 3-4 years, this last oil change I noticed the bottle changed and google came up with a bunch of people being worried which got me wondering about it.

so CG4-SM lable wise got dropped.

Based on the oil sample I linked to up top, looks like very little has changed other than the container and SM rating.

I have been using T6 5w50 in the girlfriends WRX for a while now and did not think twice about using the new T6 when I took it to the dealership last week for service.
