"New" style MC FL-400S cut open

Decided to open it up now that I have a good collection of pre-change XG3600's to use. Noticed that it has a dome end that looks more like an FL-910S instead of the style with more "points" (second image) that have been on this model for a number of years. The stock at Walmart at the time (last month) was about half and half of the old and "new" style. Doesn't appear the internals have changed at all. Was hoping to see they had added a metal crimp like the 910S has, but oh well.

Seems like the MC/Purolator filters that came up torn tended to be metal seam crimped ones (although the FL400S ones were always good). I would rather see the glued one, personally.

Glad these 400’s still look good. I use them on my JD LT150 & the 2005 Jeep.
