6-10 hours??? You need a plow instead of a snowblower. That is waaaaay too long to be snowblowing lol

When we really get pounded good here I will be out there a good 6-10 hours as well cleaning my yard and helping neighbors. Snowblowing a normal driveway when you have 2 feet of snow takes longer than you realize. Add in doing paths, opening up areas for pets to go to the bathroom, etc... and easily you can spend 2+ hours on one home.

That is alot of snow to move! I did some calcs on how much snow falls on my 1/4 mile driveway and compared to honda blower's published tons/hour ratings and suddenly the big $3k blowers start to make some sense.
I plow with my atv and the odd time I'll get caught having to move 10+" of heavy stuff at once, and its no fun. Turns a 45 minute blast in the fluff into a 4-5 hour chore...

When I change the oil again after the 2 hour break in I am going to hit the local hardware store as they have every conceivable type of fitting known to man. I am going to come up with something to make changing the oil easier. I will try and remember to PM you and let you know what I came up with if I am successful.

Much appreciated. I started my parts search at the local HW store, then the big outlets, then Fastenal.

Notta.

This drain tube is hexagonal so simply putting large hose on it isn't practical.

So yes, if you find something that works, let us know.

so I settled on the Honda, and it's really worked great. to the main road, it's about half a mile. Takes a full 6-10 hrs to clear the entire thing, but it's held up great.

he got the one with the chinese engine?

On small engines and especially ones that have no pressure filter system, wear metals settle in the bottom of the motor case. Part of draining oil out through a normal drain hole, is that these wear metal drain out with the oil. Those suction pumps are a disaster waiting to happen.
