New Router - Now AM Radio is ALL Static.

I listen a lot to local and DX AM radio. Your situation sounds like a major FCC violation. Something in that router is defective if it's transmitting wide-band spurious noise into the kHz band. It's time for a replacement.

If the noise stops when you pull the power from the router, then it's at fault and you need a replacement.

Yeah its the channel the router is broadcasting wireless on. Just change it from whatever the default is, will go away.

There's no switch, channel changer or anything on it!

I highly doubt changing channel will make the AM interference go away. The difference in range between AM and Wifi is like between Hawaii and New York, when the difference in range between the channel in wifi is like between Harlem and Bronx.

Try a different router or power supply, most likely something like a filter is broken.

Agreed with PB; changing the channel is probably a waste of time.

That device is completely unsuppressed/unshielded somewhere in the circuit, and is effectively an AM-band transmitter. Without the schematic, it's hard to say where the signal leakage is. But it's not your problem -- it's the Cable Co.'s.

Call the Cable Co., then call the FCC if they won't do anything about it.
