I was poking around the Ravenol website and I see this listed as a new oil (https://www.ravenol.de/en/). I wonder if this new Ravenol VSH is a replacement for the Ravenol VSE? - https://bit.ly/3HKsQin

I see it carries the Porsche C20, VW 508 00, and the VW 509 00 approvals.

I don't see a lot of people here on the group running Ravenol oil, but I'm guessing it's because it's somewhat hard to buy here in the U.S., and it's (of course) one of the more expensive oils.

Yes, it's difficult to get. I've ordered from both Amazon and Blauparts, but the shipping to Canada is pretty brutal.

I use Ravenol VST exclusively in my MB, 5w-40. If you watch Blauparts, (or give them a good review with a picture) they will send you a nice discount.
Here in the US, shipping isn't too bad, and it comes very well packaged. Just bought 10 liters, shipped to my door for @$100.00.
No, not cheap, but neither is Amsoil and some others.
Blauparts also offers oil change kits, specific for your vehicle, if you like that kind of thing.

Oh, yeah, after Jiffy Lube quoted me $150.00 for an oil change on the MB, I don't think $100.00 worth of oil, which will get me 3 changes, is too bad at all.

Low Temp. Pumping viscosity (MRV) at -40 °C and CCS -35
VSE 10900 and 4700 vs VSH 15200 and 5860

Base oil difference? cost cutting?
Visc and HTHS increase from VSE to VSH.

TBN and sulfated ash difference too. .77 vs .84 and 8.3 vs 9.5! Love to see a VOA comparison to see what additives, if seen, changed.

VSH is a HC (Hydrocrack) and PAO (Polyalphaolefin) based synthetic low friction motor oil with proven CleanSynto® technology
VSE is a PAO (Poly-alpha-olefin) based fully synthetic low friction motor oil with especially USVO® and proven CleanSynto technology

I have run the VSE. Will have to try the VSH too if/when available since haven't found the new stuff anywhere. Next change soon is with Valvoline 508.
