Pushing it open to the side of the bypass valve with a pen appears to allow it to get hung up. Oil flow should be more uniform on that valve. Anyways, not what viewers/buyers want to see on these YT reviews.

Stuck open bypass valve keeps the dP down and lowers the risk of the media tearing.

At 10:47 it shows well how the pleat spacing is wide at the seam, and they also have a wide "V" spread of the pleat on the outside diameter of the end cap. Very common on some filters, and has to be from how the filter seam is made, and for some reason the pleat spacing isn't made uniform before the end caps are attached/glued.

IMHO, that bypass valve would NOT stick open like that in actual use in an engine.
