New PP vs New PUP - real world test/comparison?

As far as the new GTL vs "other stuff" I picked the PP 5w20 over the 0w - much better specs for summer use. The Jury is OUT for me, as I'm only 200 miles into the OC so far - and I'm not running my prized wix 57356. Initially, the oil seems more viscous and the engine is quieter at start and run, but HP generation and rev ability nd throttle response have gone WAY not fret and give the new fill a while to sort things out - esp after a radical package changeover. I'll give some highly subjective impressions after 1000mi.
My Wife says that she is getting 3 mpg less with PU5w20 in the Forester over the VSP 0w20 - Not sure whats up there - Maybe injector pattern issues.

I can't even find a store that stocks the new PUP but the new PP is everywhere. >:(
I've been using PU 5W20 for a while now and I bought a few 5qt jugs when they went on clearance at Walmart earlier this year.

Could it be the heavy weight at start-up?

I've noticed the new PP but can't say that I've seen any of the PUP but haven't really paid attention. I can find the old PU at Autozone near me but none of the Wal-marts have it.

Same here. Anyone else in Canada have any luck spotting the new PU yet? I suppose a lot of retailers are still smarting over what happened with trying to move the old PU up here.

I couldn't get my hands on the new PUP of any grade, none of my local stores has it including WM, PB, AZ, O'Reilly. Website of some chains has it, but when I called to confirm that it was in stock, they said none available, may be in 2-3 weeks.

The SOPUS marketing/distributor is really suck at distributing new products to local stores.

Or worse, for those of us stunned by how high the Noack climbed?

Still collecting PU here, it is out there.....

I ran the new PPPP in my GP for 5500 miles. 1/2qt oil added at 3000 miles but this is a new car to me so probably just what the car uses.

I still haven't figured out what the fuss is about. Engine sounded normal, it didn't cause my engine to explode, and I will probably use it again. I even grabbed it over some old PP and PU - why? - because the bottle looked better.

I actually have 3 jugs of 10w30 PPPP ready to go into the BBC LS6 Camaro before the strip this weekend. Jugs were damaged and I got them for $10 each.

I've got a chart I made for 5w-30 and the new PP and PUP are pretty close in numbers to the old PP. The old PU is close to all 3 except for the NOACK was very low compared to the others.

I would post my chart like 6star did but I can't figure out how.

You need to save a picture of your chart to a image hosting website. My only experience is with Photobucket so that's all I know. Copy the direct link url and paste it into the image link button.

Give orange line oil a ring on their 800 number. I bet a coke you can get a deal from them on their remaining stock of the old PU.

I'm lost here, what is "orange line oil" ? Is it Auto Zone ?

A Southern California SOPUS distributor. They do not have the PUP yet but you can order any grade of PU from them.

Edit: 20 weight only
Looking at the data You see why I picked the PP5w20 for Summer use in my Honda?. Im not interested in giving a higher vi any weight in my summer oil choice - and its concomitant NOACK compromise.

I found 2 jugs of PUP 5w30 @ walmart in salem Virginia(I took the last 2).
I tried 4 walmarts,2 in Georgia,1 in Virginia and 1 in Wilkes-Barre penn.)
forget about Georgia--they never have any/Virginia is your best bet.penn. may or may not have--their store is "unkempt"

I was on a road trip/vacation so I stocked up on oil 'n stuff...
