I saw this on an Instagram reel:

It certainly looks like a PGI Chinese/Vietnamese filter(and the new ACDelco PF63As) judging from the crimp on the can and the plastic wrapper on the baseplate. But Fram’s website is down. A sign of things to come?

It seems there are Many Fakes of many Items in Market Place Now . .

I just ran into 2 Sets of Spark Plugs - I Bought on Line from some ~ Suppliers ~ Have Sold 1000's of Sets ./. :cautious: o_O

1 Had to do some Digging , but under 4X I could see some Oxidation had started on 2 of Plugs from set of 4
Then when I did Trace back to Number stamped Into Plug Metallic Ring - NOT - Plug Number ..

It came Up Built in " Russia " 3 - 4 Yrs ago - this - Happened Last Month . . ( FAKES )
As Manufacturing Plant in Russia has been : Closed - & - Restricted 3 Years Ago !

I was Doing some Testing of ~ 3 Manufactures & Plug Types ~ on 2 Different Engines . .

One of Suppliers was Walmart !

Here is the Vid.. the plastic was left on :

Here is a Russian dude taking one apart and this one was made by that Purflux company it looks like :

I doubt PG will put a basic black paint job on what is likely to become their best selling brand overall.

PG is probably still in the process of deciding if they will use the US factories or produce overseas, and if they choose to use the US factories they will obviously have some overhauling of machinery to do.

I wondered if the oil pressure would be strong enough to rip the plastic if someone ever forgot it but I guess not.

Fram Europe is a separate entity from the US operations. Only the name is shared. Its either owned or operated by Purflux Group.

The maker of this video is attempting to lure you in to believing that somebody put an oil filter on the car without moving the shipping plastic.

The posts criticizing the quality of this filter are, well, disappointing. How is the filter to be blamed for an installation error?

Evidence suggests that this video was faked and set up. #ragebait

Because it’s a set up, because it’s trolling the Internet - to try and get to people to believe that somebody installed their filter with plastic still on it - this video really has no place in this forum.
