the 2009 ford escape/mercury mariner/mazda tributes with a 3.0V6 get a new oil filter. the motorcraft number is FL-500S. the long number is AA5Z-6714-A. really annoying because on the lookup, it looks similar to a FL-400S like is use on the 3.5 and 3.7L V6's. also they used a base number that was usually only used for farm tractor oil filter, not automotive use.
anyway, just a heads up to anyone that is looking for one. i have been trying to look up info on the filter, but havent found much at my work.
