Ha well it is false advertising technically as we know it can't remove piston deposits. If they knew they'd be all over it.

Average consumer won't know the difference (sludge/varnish vs piston deposits) and that is likely what Mobil is banking on.

Most good synthetics with a strong detergent/dispersant package can clean up an engine with sludge.

Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is the sloppiest Mobil product roll out I've seen in a while. So much so their own tech didn't even know about it while it was on the shelf. They also were late with PDS for it. Absolutely rushed out due to Valvoline Restore and Protect sales.

Agreed. It seems like their marketing department dropped the ball or was completely unprepared (and somehow remains so even months after release) to market and communicate about Advanced Clean.

Even the typical car / oil influencers on YouTube and social media platforms have been largely quiet about Advanced Clean. You can’t throw a rock in any direction without hitting a video about Pennzoil Ultra Platinum or Valvoline Restore & Protect.

Good luck on finding any meaningful content outside of BITOG forums on Advanced Clean though.

The cleaning ability is what you should be using it for, otherwise, use EP.

How do you know it's the better cleaner and what other claims separate those 2 products? EP claims the same thing "cleans your engine in one change".

I just picked up 2 Jugs for my Grandson's Subaru they are both Dexos 1 labeled.

Could it be old stash? They removed dexos from their PDS specs on website. It could also be that they removed dexos from spec by accident

I know that prior PDS had it dexos gen3 approved, but with the revised PDS its gone. Did they drop dexos gen3 in the new formula? If its true, this is total BS!
