The it looked good with the old formula, I was using it, but not anymore…. Once finish last jug I bought, thats it

Yes. The manufacturer makes what they want to and you get the freedom to not buy it if they don't make what you want.

All this angst here is really going over the top. The oils will still be approved or licensed. So it's doesn't have your favorite base combo.

Yes. Mobil 1 and Castrol both lost approvals when BMW changed the LL-01 spec to include a new test (for the B58?) a few years back. Really upset people who thought they couldn't use the oil they'd been using for years. The oil didn't change, but people just flipped out even to the point some were worried they'd been using an inferior oil for years. They just refused to understand that it didn't matter for their older inline 6s.

I dont know if there is a consensus, Valvoline Restore and Protect has been longer on a market and people seen it work.
I think Mobil 1 Advanced Clean will not be as popular even if its equivalent.

Its not an inferior option.
Valvoline has provided plenty of evidence from their testing and we have plenty of feedback from users of Valvoline Restore and Protect over the past years. Mobil has provided nothing of the sort that I'm aware of.
No they're just built different. Mobil 1 better for long drains, cleans sludge very well and runs clean. Valvoline Restore and Protect specializes in ring deposit removal, cleans sludge and runs clean...more of an OE drain oil. Both different.
