I don't see any mention of their "Triple Action Formula +"
Triple Action Formula + = "Power"What does it stay behind the Triple Action Formula +?
I think Castrol will be last to market on a Valvoline Restore and Protect competitor among all of the major players. They’re for sale and I doubt they’re allocating large R&D funding into extending their lineup like that.Let’s trust what Mobil is putting out I’m sure this will be a great oil . But let’s wait for the new labels and formulations Castrol and Pennzoil puts out
Does not Mobil 1 Extended Performance make a similar claim on the back?https://shop.advanceautoparts.com/p...otects-against-wear-5-quart-128649/50294544-P
I found it on AAPs site to!
Strange it does not say anything about piston deposits but does say cleans your engine in one oil change. I had good experience with Mobil 1 Extended Performance reducing oil consumption in my altima so it potentially cleaned some piston deposits but no way to actually confirm that
I do have Mobil 1 ESP 0W-30, so I will do the fruity smell test! I also have some Mobil 1 ESP 5W-30 so I will smell again, I also have some Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W-30 so I will do the smell thing again. In hand now! VOA kit ordered. QR code goes to generic Mobil 1 page.
For what it’s worth it doesn’t have that fruity ESP 0W-30 smell or the gear oil smell of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Let's realize something with synthetic oil's out on the market today, they will keep an engine clean, not really doing any cleaning to a certain extent. What is interesting with Valvoline Restore and Protect is that they seem to be backing up there marketing claims, at least on this Forum. Why do you think Mobil wants to compete with Valvoline Restore and Protect? They might have (and I'm sure of that) more sales even without a product matching/competing Valvoline Restore and Protect.
Just because their marketing team put Clean on the label it doesn't mean anything. Any synthetic oil has more or less some cleaning abilities.
I was sure this oil is their main line (aka vanilla) because of the blue color which was trade mark of that series. Also they needed to add 0W-20 grade to thatvline because the other were AFE (mostly marketed towards hybrids and Jap vehicles), EP, ESP, but missing just a regular 0W-20 as any other brand.
Most likely. I do wonder where in the Mobil 1 portfolio this falls? The name “Advanced Clean” doesn’t seem to be a coincidence, IMO. I doubt this name exists if Valvoline Restore and Protect does not.I don't think companies going to change their formulating philosophy because of Valvoline Restore and Protect. I think they'll continue to make oils that hold up over extended drains and prevent deposits as much as possible. I think Valvoline Restore and Protect will remain unique for a while. I had originally thought this new Mobil 1 was going to Mobil's answer to Valvoline Restore and Protect but it isn't. It's just their latest formulation for SQ/GF-7.
I dont even see a date code with revision number at allIn hand now! VOA kit ordered. QR code goes to generic Mobil 1 page.
100% sludge removal based on Sequence VH Rocker Cover sludge test.
For what it’s worth it doesn’t have that fruity ESP 0W-30 smell or the gear oil smell of Valvoline Restore and Protect.

Well said.Looks to me like the new Mobil 1 Advanced Clean is a close relative / rebranding of Mobil 1 Extended Performance … For my interest level , I judge any new Mobil 1 oil against my current favorite Mobil 1 oil - which is 0W30 ESP . I’m currently out of oil for my next oil change and will continue buying Valvoline Restore and Protect 5W30 because it specifically cleans pistons and ring packs . Until any new oil specifically states or shows pictures of cleaning pistons and rings - I’m just not enticed enough to change oil brands away from Valvoline Restore and Protect for my Hyundai / Kia 4K mile OCI’s. Also the fact that Valvoline Restore and Protect does not try to be a long drain oil makes me believe I’m not throwing money away on shorter OCI’s by the 4K mile OCI mark . Of course , I’ll be watching posts on Mobil 1 Advanced Clean as well as Mobil 1 ESP 0W30 ESP for any new updates that are interesting .
What is interesting with Valvoline Restore and Protect is that they seem to be backing up there marketing claims, at least on this Forum.
Mobil has said "Cleans your engine in one oil change" before so that part is not new.Does not Mobil 1 Extended Performance make a similar claim on the back?
