Saw this while filling up with Costco has today

Whaddaya got? Tires? Shoes? a Bread product?

If you can bring it out w/good quality, it 'makes a name' for itself, the tradition seems to be to let that quality go and sell on the name (at same hi $) till folks see thru the ploy (Y pay extra for not so good?). Some go for 'value' the whole way (good price for good product) and miss getting that name (Klenix, Xerox, etc got the name).
Another corporate strategy? have 1 good product (gets a name) and roll out 'different models' of lesser quality hopin folk/places like this dont communicate about the 'ploy'. U Go UG! (& 71Cheb)

I'm a sucker for the Michelin Man. Unfortunately Costco is essentially out of tires for my vehicle.
Michelin got rid of 15” sizes for the new Defenders. It’s become an increasingly Chineseium market for those recently. The local Costco tire shop manager said they will order a BFG Advantage T/A or Bridgestone Ecopia/WeatherPeak for those but will refer people to the local Big O.

my XTour AS on CRV so far so good after 50K miles, one more season to go for sure

The Michelin Latitude Tours lasted us 80k and still had 3/32 on the tread when we traded the car in. I had them rotated and balanced every 5k at discount tire where I purchased them. They "loved" me. Those were the best tires I have ever purchased.

now named: Latitude tour HP.

Was going to make the comment in post #9 "Or they keep
changing names. One can never tell where the article has gone, or if
the new name is a different or same product." I cant find my 9.50 wide BFG
TA / KO as they only make a "KO2" and no longer in the narrow 9.50. It has been
renamed which is good cuz the tread blocks are much larger (a different tire, bearly).
Score one for BFG. But, I cant get one that will not scrape the wheel well now shame -

If they are anything like my Premiers, I will pass. Mine wore out in 17k, not impressed one bit.
My last set of michelins wore down to a unacceptable level in 27k i sold the car or i would have been going after milage warranty. I had been even taking it in to costco for rotation so it was all documented. I usually just do it at home so it would not have been documented.

I got burned on the first gen Premier A/S from Costco on my Camry
Less than 30k (25k~) and they were down to the wear bars
Michelin nor Costco would help, so I swore off them
Which was sad, because the Primacy MXV4 was an excellent tire in every way
Hopefully they've improved since then

Sad, that the UTQG braking rating went down from A to B on the X-tour A/S 2 and Defender 2, since the Costco special has 235/55r20 tires where the Defender 2 does not.
