Have you considered a system 76 laptop? Linux has much better security than mac or windows and is super easy to use.

Their pricing looks pretty steep, and yet another Clevo rebadge, I'd look for an on sale Gigabyte laptop.

Have you tried thinkpinguin? Much better pricing. I don't think system 76 rebadgeds any of their laptops

They look like straight up Clevo designs like my Gigabyte laptop.

I'd pay a little more for a new drive, especially since the 980 Pro and 990 Pro had bad firmware at one point that caused accelerated NAND degredation, I wouldn't want one of those drives.

I would get a business class laptop, even a used one over a typical consumer grade garbage.
Then you can update SSD and RAM as you need.

I would also recommend a 1440p display. It will be much better quality display.
