So @High Performance Lubricants now has a CVT fluid (maybe David can give some insight on which CVT fluids this is a replacement for) plus the PDS has been updated. Enjoy!

524,000km Mitsubishi Mirage engine teardown

This channel has some teardowns on high-mile Mitsubishi Mirage with the Jatco CVT.

From the comments:
"I replaced the cvt in this car at 300,000km. Installed a used one. They can last longer than when you change the fluid more often, 50k km/30k miles seems to work. Right now there’s only with 536k on the same cvt and engine. A handful have over 400k km too."

So is this long life due to regular maintenance, the lighter chassis, or due to Mitsubishi's programming of the TCU compared to Nissan, etc. ?

Cvt's hate torque and the mirage and versa use the same cvt if I'm not mistaken but the mirage makes like a third less power so that beats the cvt a lot less which is why it lasts so long on the mirage. But most people never service them and that's the main cause of failure. The mirage is a great car and I say Mitsubishi should at least delay discontinuation because the economy and consumer buying power has gone down a lot more than expected since they made that decision. Apparently they're becoming popular enough to where people are buying a spirit ticket to a different state to pick one up now since they're 15-17k and surprisingly reliable given that it has existed for a decade so there's a lot of data on them and are simple to fix if they have an issue.
