I was in walmart and saw that Gumout has a newer smaller bottle. It's 2x the strength but half the volume of the old stuff, so you are getting the same amount for your money. The bottle looks like the Lucas UCL bottle. I think Gumout is trying to reduce their shipping costs and offer a product that looks like Lucas. I bought one of the old larger bottles; same price.

One of my complaints was that they were using a large dose of kerosene to carry the PEA. If they ditched the kerosene and left pure PEA, it's a change for the better.

a bit OT, but didn;t want to start a new thread:

my wife's 2003 Elantra has a 14 gallon tank...
Can i use 2 Regane bottles in her tank for stronger/shock treatment? or is it dangerous to do so?

The only new smaller bottle I saw was one of Gumout's Fuel Injector Cleaners. Those must sell better than Regane.

Yes. It is recommended that you treat the tank about 1 or 2 tank before changing the oil. There is no scientific proof that this helps anything, but if the chemicals in the cleaner get past the rings and into the oil, it is probably better to change the oil.

They had 3 kinds at Wal-Mart. The $1.67 FI cleaner, the $5.?? High Mileage with Regane, and the $4.?? Complete System Cleaner with Regane. I couldn't find any pictures on their website. I saw a lot of old style high mileage regane bottles that looked like some leaked out all over the labels. I was hopping they would sell them for a few pennies, but they were full price.

I too saw the new Gumout Regane in the smaller container which had the 2X on it. However, I took a closer look and even though the container said Gumout I could not find anywhere on the container where it said Regane???? Of course I am old and blind but dang, I didn't see Regane anywhere. Could be the same trick the antifreeze companies pulled on us by doing the 50/50 deal for the same price. I mean do they really think the public can't mix 1/2 water and 1/2 antifreeze?

The next WalMart I tried had 4 Gumout products in small packages. One was Gumout Regane which still had some large bottles left. The other three were various fuel injector cleaners which had no large bottles left so sales must be brisk. Regane HM didn't have any small packages yet so it must not sell very well.

The new Gumout bottles are the size and shape of the Lucas 5.5 oz bottle and WalMart has lowered the price of the Lucas 5.5 oz bottle to the same price as Gumout Regane.

I saw the bottle yesterday at Wally. The one I saw was the 'All in One' product that says it 2x concentrated at treats up to 35 gals. It was about $8 and change. The REGANE Complete Fuel system cleaner was still the same size it has been and still just shy of $5.

The first product was the one I saw in the smaller bottle. It does seem they are going to make the new Regane Complete in a more concentrated smaller bottle too.

I bought one of the 2x regane complete bottles at WM tonight - gonna do a shock treatment in my Tbird, as I haven't been using it regularly - fill up with 1/2 tank instead of a full tank.

Last week i did a "shock" treatment with wifey's Elantra: put a regular Regane bottle, filled up to 1/2 tank, used it up, put another full bottle and filled up to full tank - start up clatter is less, and the car feels a bit responsive in the 30-60 mph range - nice.

nevermind - brain [censored].
it's "2x conc'd" because it's 1/2 the volume, but same amount of active ingredient - so it still treats only 21 gal ...

I would only purchase the items that contain the PEA detergent in 30-50% concentrations. Don't waste you time with anything else because it isn't cleaning anything.
