It's amazing! My 2001 GMC van had a malfunctioning odometer, so I got an instrument cluster from the junkyard. Somehow it raised my oil pressure! I was running just under 20 psi at idle when the engine was warm, now I'm running maybe 22 psi! At freeway speeds I was running about 50 psi, now I'm up to 55 psi! So you guys with low pressure, try a new instrument cluster. Not sure how it works, but wow!

Also, my engine is running about 5 degrees cooler. I guess the old instrument cluster was creating drag on the engine that raised the temperature and lowered the oil pressure. It's the only explanation that makes sense!

Uhh... More likely the gauge voltage regulator is slightly different, or you made better connections when you re attached the parts.

This is clearly false and just silly. Really no explanation for this type of silliness. For shame. It was clearly sun spots. The old dash gauge unit was aging and lost its sun spot protection, this it was throwing off your readings. You can also put a tin foil hat on your gauge cluster to correct for the deterioration.
