I know there are some pics already, but I picked up a bunch of these for $1.50 each and wanted to see for myself. Looks like a Champ E-Core. Bypass valve fit snug into the top plate. Soft and supple nitrile anti drain back valve. I will have no issues running these on my Honda and my kiddos Sentra. Media was also tightly packed and fairly straight. It reminded me of a smaller ACDelco PF63 I ran on my old Silverado.

Sorry for the chewed metal, my filter cutter never does a good job on these smaller filters.

Fram Drive a Champ Labs made (same as ACD) ecore filter in an orange can since intro at AAP. Initially at least some if not all used polyester endcaps same as original ecore. But, same as topic they always have separate bypass piece, no combo valve. A good thing. Otoh, now CL with current design have the metal to metal bypass seal area as the weak point. Topic bypass piece area looks better/smoother than vast majority recent postings so 'perhaps' it could/would pass a flashlight test. If that the case, worth $1.50.

Thanks for c&p.

I would have zero problems running filters like that.
Proof that not all Fram products are as bad as many fear.
I know you used TG in the past - I posted a good one yesterday and it was just seven bucks …

Opening the can up for inspection before is not possible though, for most folks, as you already know. I suppose if one opened up several of the same model with good consistency then that could give one more confidence in using them. With Fram & Purolator we have to sacrifice a few cans to determine "Quality" on particular models. 😄

Perhaps, that's what OP is doing since they bought several of these at a bargain. (y)

Or get past hangups like metal end caps … even our former Fram expert said it’s easier to bond fiber to fiber etc … and the leaf spring seals better …
One of my favorites was the older PF63e’s …

We've seen some of those fiber ends not seal either though (flashlight test). It depends on what model & it's features as well. I get stuck with plastic disc ends on the Fram Ultra's that suck!

Wan't them? 😄

An actual metal to metal seal takes allot of force to energize - and if the spring is not perfect - they leak …
There was a reason the OG XG’s once used a compliant seal

Fram failed us there...right?
"Reminiscent of the olden days" 😄

My opinion is the fiber ends would be the best they currently offer at this point but no fail safe & certainly not the old Fram we grew to like.
