New Formula Shell 5W20 Specs (Dino)

Would somebody mind checking out these specs and commenting on
whether or not this is a good oil for 3000 OCI's in an F150 4.2 liter v-6? It is SM, gf4 rated. Thanks!

It'd be a great oil for 3K intervals at least.

Looks like a solid flashpoint, and pretty average visc at 100 degrees.

there have been quite a few good UOA's on that stuff.

The ONLY thing that would have me choosing a different oil, is that there 5w20's out there that are slightly better in cold weather performance. If your not in crazy cold climates, no worries.

If you are not in the NC mountains during an extreme cold spell, I wouldn't worry about the cold temp specs. I think 3k OCI's are something of the past unless you are running your F-150 under severe conditions. You can run FS for at least 4k with out a problem.

I would use it to 5K miles with confidence, it's a very good oil and will serve you well!

Can't comment on the specs, but I can the price, as we've done before here. Then as now, there are better oils at a better value in 5w20, IMO.

Where did you find those "New" FS 5w-20 specs? I can only find 8/07 & 2/08 specs that have a different 40°C cSt value than the one you posted.
