I purchased the truck about a year and a half ago. It was a 2015 with 191k on it. I paid 11k for it. It was a bad purchase. The engine was sludged (found out after purchase when I replaced spark plugs).Negative seven grand on the F-150? It died with how many miles and what year? If you sold it with a busted engine, you must have taken a blood bath on that truck. How did you navigate that?
Sorry to hear about the truck. That Honda should last you a decade or more. My Dad has an H-RV. He loves it. His is dark blue. No issues with it so far.
I'm not concerned about the cvt right now. It is a bit weird to get used to barely feeling the gears shift. I’ll have to do some research on it. I previously owned a 2012 focus with that dual clutch nonsense…and yes, I have been scouring the internet trying to decide what oil to useI don’t know what it is about Japanese cars not having individual sensors in the TPMS. My Mazda is the same way. My mother’s 2013 Honda accord constantly lights on the TPMS if the tires are not within a pound or two of each other. I don’t mind checking tire pressures ( I do it every two weeks with my vehicles, even though the Hyundai has individual readouts), but it’s nice to know them on the fly, so to speak. Are you concerned with the CVT transmission? It is a nice looking vehicle though, and I’m sure you won’t have to worry too much overall. Have you already started to plan what oil you are going to use in it?![]()
No “gears”, just an infinite range between 2.526 and 0.408…. With a 5.436 final drive.I'm not concerned about the cvt right now. It is a bit weird to get used to barely feeling the gears shift. I read that and was intrigued. No “gears”, just an infinite range between 2.526 and 0.408…. With a 5.436 final drive.

True, but remember that as much time separates the HRV from early Accords as separates early Accords from Model T’s.Fun fact, the HRV is a giant compared to the 1at and 2nd gen Accords. and has more useable space than a 4th/5th generation Accord
Stick to OEM Honda CVT fluid....The engine isn't picky about what oil to use.
The CVT can use any CVT fluid. Honda's CVT fluid is the same color as oil. Amalie's CVT fluid is the same color. Autozone's house brand STP is made by Amalie, and I've used it in a Honda with no problem. Valvoline CVT fluid is also amber.
Did not know that! I’m all about cargo space. Sweet.Fun fact, the HRV is a giant compared to the 1at and 2nd gen Accords. and has more useable space than a 4th/5th generation Accord
That 0.408 is a shocking overdrive ratio - and 2.526 is a very tall "1st gear" ... but with a 5.436 "rear end" (equivalent, I suppose) it makes sense. No “gears”, just an infinite range between 2.526 and 0.408…. With a 5.436 final drive.
