KBB doesn't set market value, it reflects market value.
That's true. But it's still not going to account for dealer installed non-sense in the example (A) you sited. Where options on car "B" will be taken in to account.
 
It's always the same old story with dealers. What you have isn't worth crap and what they have is rare and expensive!
My last trade-in a 2008 DTS, they wanted to give me $10,000! I said no way, finally got them to $12,000. I went back to the same dealership THE NEXT DAY, and a guy was buying it for $16,000. They didn't touch it except for putting some shiny spray on the tires. Don't think they even washed it!
