Finally got around to taking some pictures of my Air Filter.

I have an Amsoil Oiled Foam Filter that fits in the OEM housing.
It fits in there really good and I'm happy with it so far.

No Power claims, or gas mileage claims here. Still getting 14-16mpg:mad:

Anyhow, I really like the cleanable foam filters. They do a good job at stopping dirt while flowing good air over the life of the filter.

Here are some links to the photo's sorry they are on yahoo and you can't link them to posts.

  1. Cleanable and re-usable - saves money on replacement filters
  2. Full-depth filtration - stops and holds more dirt than conventional paper air filters
  3. Improves airflow characteristics - up to 50% more air flow than pleated-paper
  4. Helps extend engine life - effectively eliminates wear-causing airborne contaminants

AMSOIL oil-wetted foam air filters keep oils and engines cleaner for longer periods with the most effective air filtration available today. AMSOIL air filters provide superior performance in all three critical areas of filtration: efficiency (dirt-stopping), capacity (dirt-holding) and resistance (air flow). AMSOIL air filters are uniquely designed to hold wear-causing dirt while allowing only clean air into the engine for better performance, better fuel economy, lower exhaust emissions and longer engine life. Also, AMSOIL air filters are washable and reusable for thousands of miles of trouble-free service. Tests prove AMSOIL air filters have up to 350 percent greater life expectancy than competitive air filters.

The AMSOIL TS Air Filter, for passenger vehicles, features two layers of oil-wetted polyurethane foam, which provides a network of interlocking cells that trap particles yet allow a constant flow of clean intake air for outstanding engine protection and performance.

  1. Just another option out there.

    :fyi:

Retail on the F150/mustang TS191 is around $40. which I believe is at least $10 less than the K&N.

I just installed one of those on a customers Triton V-10 motorhome. I have the flat panel Flowzairs on my Dakota and my Olds. They seal around the housing better than my old K&N drop-in.

I installed TS-101's in all my Pontiac Montana's(3 total). I was very impressed with the quality of construction and the foam seal, it was obviously better than the OEM paper with a rubber seal. They also seemed to dampen out the intake noise better than paper.

I only have 1 UOA so far but Si seems good. Now I just have to wait for Amsoil to make one to fit my 3 Vibes!

Perfect timing. My buddy wants one of those TS191 for his 1999 F150 and his 2004 Mustang 40th edition. We were curious to see what the TS191 looked like.
