They choose not to get approvals. But, LL01FE or LL04 seem bit too much. That should be whole point to sell it.

This is further confounded by the fact that "meets or exceeds" is the correct formal language for the API/ISLAC and ACEA approvals, but not for most OEM approvals/certifications. Mobil is one of the few companies that properly break this out on their PDS and website, for example:

I believe one of the contributing factors to this is the ability to self-certify for API/ACEA approvals (and some of the OEM ones) vs ones that you pay an OEM and have the product tested (or inherit that approval from the additive package, already tested by Infineum, Afton, Lubrizol...etc). Self-certify, meets or exceeds is the correct language.

Mobil1 was always good in this. It is an example how to do it.
Companies leave themselves some space in case they lose approval, change formulation etc. It happens to Mobil1 too, but they do it right way.

Seems you've pretty much had a bone to pick with Amsoil for some time now. What underlying damage have they done that you are so bitter? Same with Toyota. What gives?
 
I’m sure Pablo can comment also, but isn’t the Amsoil Warranty program designed to protect the consumer if they use the Amsoil spec oil for their recommended applications? The new 0W-30 for 229.51/52, C30, etc?

Who cares about the approvals if Amsoil will warranty any oil related failures.

Why would I do through the exercise of a warranty claim that may or may not be successful? Just so I can use some particular brand? No thanks.

Approvals are proof. Recommendations are just that, recommendations.

Why would my buying habits matter? I thought this was a technical discussion. Of course your frustration is showing that you can’t keep it there, this is typical unfortunately. The ****** is a nice touch.

Nevertheless I do buy Amsoil gear lubricant for my old Echo and I used it this last time in my Tiguan differential.
 
I have zero frustration. Why did you ask me if I sold the stuff?

Don’t bash the oil because it doesn’t have approvals. Im sure the engineers in Superior know it meets or exceeds all the specs on the bottle.

They list the "meets/exceeds" approvals for each of their Euro oils (the ones I use/know about). Firstly - I use HPL/like HPL. I have no issues that their oils do not have the formal approvals - obviously as I use them/couldn't care less here. I understand however in this discussion folks are calling out Amsoil for listing multiple approvals that aren't meant to be listed together which to me is likely a typo/oversight and not intentional. Come on folks...Amsoil makes quality oils and nobody should have concerns that they are doing someing nefarious here.
