If one wanted a new non-luxury SUV with decent amount of 3rd row leg room and not horrible reliability, what would one get?

I was thinking Grand Highlander, but the more I look at it, the more boring it seems, both exterior and interior.

Throw some ideas my way, please.

My favorite is the Grand Cherokee, I know Jeep isn't suppose to be very reliable, but the Grand Cherokee is very reliable in my opinion and I had great luck with them.

You might check out the Ford Explorer ST with the 3.0 L. My buddy has one a 2025 that I've ridden in a few times it has a lot of spirit... kind of surprises me. Horsepower 400 HP @ 5500 RPM and 415 Torque @ 3500 RPM.

Unfortunately, pretty cramped inside with anyone over 10.

The smallest thing I'd look at for adults in the third row would be a Traverse if it has to be an SUV, Minivan if I want to remain friends with said adults.
If it has to be AWD Sienna is the logical choice. If it has to be an SUV I'd be looking at short wheelbase Tahoe and whatnot.

We are quite pleased with our 2019 Expedition. Even my 200lb 6'2" butt can easily get into the 3rd row. My oldest son's first comment (he's 10) about it was "wow there's a lot more space back here than the van!" Get the Max if you want some cargo room without putting a seat down, otherwise the shorty is super easy to park and get around in.... And fits into parking spots without hanging out.

I know the 10 speed has its issues, but I like it. Once in awhile it'll do something goofy, but 99.9% of the time it just does its thing and doesn't draw any attention to itself and man I love that Ecoboost.

I'm enjoying my 2025 Nissan Armada Pro-4x with 3rd row and seats 8. Even with 3rd row up I can fit 2 full sized suitcases and 2 carry on luggage also 5 five gallon water jugs standing up. Build quality is excellent and built in Japan. Shares the same VR class engine as the Nissan GT-R and the 9 speed transmission from a MB AMG G Wagon.
