New 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan

Hi Guys,

I finally broke down and got myself a new 2015 Grand Caravan in Granite Crystal metallic. The dealer had a lot of incentives and zero percent financing sealed the deal. I'm loving the pentstar engine and the dash board during night driving.











Previous van was a 1998 Toyota Sienna. Had 284,xxx km on the clock and I was the second owner.

Nice van! My brother's 2015 Charger has the Pentastar and I think it's a fine motor.

Thanks! I noticed on the Challenger the HP in the Penstar is 305HP, while the Caravan has 283.

Yes there are several ratings IIRC, the Charger is at 292hp.

0% financing is a no brainer. The finance company takes the hit on inflation.
The money you spend on the first payment has more buying power than the last payment. So in reality you pay less by financing a 0% then if you paid the whole note up front.
And the pentastar is a great engine. Mom has one in her crossover. I had it on the highway after just driving my charger and though the hemi is a beast I'd happily take a pentastar in a smaller ride.

Very good choice. The girlfriends' stepdather got one and he loves it. Already rang up 6,790 miles on it and it will get either Magnatec 5w20 or Quaker State Ultimate Durability 5w20

I'm going to try to get my wife convinced to go back to a minivan next time around when the 2009 Flex is too old ~ we had a 2005 Dodge Grand CV before the Flex, and we miss the storage room of the Dodge.

May discuss this my wife.. liking the idea of a minivan more every trip with the 2 boys. Sure would be nice to separate those two! With the Escape they can reach each other. Grew up with plymouth and dodge minivans and from the sounds of it the 90's transmission problems are of the past.

I had a 98 Sienna and the biggest pain in the van was having to remove all 4 seats if I needed to haul anything large. I love the Stow N Go.

Doesn't the manufacturer give 0% on the entire MSRP?

I always thought you could negotiate a discount if paying upfront.

Oh no, no, no...paying cash is never an advantage when negotiating. There is usually a commission paid on the backend when financing, so the dealer is hoping to make money on you in the finance office if they don't make much on the sale of the vehicle. Also, never forget the time value of money.

In the past they would usually offer low % financing or a rebate, in the last few years it's been both that you get.

What Clevy is referring to in regards to 0% financing is paying for the vehicle at todays price with tomorrows inflated (and not worth as much) money.

I'm OK, I don't have ego issues with what I drive. Funny, the day I went to pick it up, I needed to go to the bank next door to the dealership. The kid standing at the counter overheard my conversation and said what vehicle did you buy, "The Helcat"?

I laughed and said, "No, I got a minivan and my ego's still intact".
