FYI for those interested. I drove over 1,000 miles (steady interstate at 78 mph) this week with a full bottle of Neutra in the oil.

Sump capacity is 4.1 qts. I had in 4 quarts of Syntec 5W50 and 1 pint of SLOB to which I added the 12 ounces of Neutra. I will drain tomorrow and pull the valve cover as well.

I have observed no difference in sound or butt dyno or any other subjective factor.

Make sure to post pics of your valvetrain.

Will do. I wasn't too worried about thinning with the 50 weight plus SLOB. It's the first oil I've ever run that didn't feel like water on the dipstick by 2k miles. I'm impressed with the 5W50 and if I didn't have 220 OTHER quarts of oil to use I maybe would buy some more. But yes, I'll take some pics. Especially since the last time I ran Neutra I didn't really notice ANY difference.

Neutra is pretty cheap. I got a case of 20 12 ounce bottles for $40. Plus I'd say it's easily the best smelling oil product.

It really does smell great, but don't get it on your hands, the smell can't be washed off. Also, I would avoid sniffing the stuff, just enjoy the smell from a distance. It certainly is stong enough that you don't need to get very close.

Yes it's components, when inhaled over long periods, have been shown to be cancerous. I don't think that's on the label but it's what I found when I googled the ingredients..

Will you have before/after pics, or just after pics?

12 ounces is pretty high dose for long term flush.
But, at least you used a 50wt oil.

A UOA would be interesting.

NO UOA. I have plenty of recent pics under my valve cover. I take pics every month or so since I came in posession of the car. I have already partially taken apart the filter. The oil still felt really thick despite the Neutra.

I realize the butyl alcohol contributes but that smell is beyond buytl alcohol...

Here's a portion of a MSDS for dephenolized cresylic acid:

deodorizers, insecticides, etc.
PRODUCT

A brownish colored liquid with a phenol, medicinal odor.

It's got that old, glass bottle of Lysol smell.

Bob Winters "Handle"Bobistheoilguy drove 10,000 miles with Nutra 131 in the oil. Their is a lot in the archives about this product! Unless your engine was a sludge beast it will be very very clean inside!A full bottle was the recomended procedure for cleaning sludge buckets before Auto-Rx came out on the market!

My engine isn't a sludge BEAST but it does have it in some hard to get to places....... I still haven't got the pics! Will try to tonight after the kiddies go to dreamland....no, not area 51..
