Neon transmission shifting problems w/ error codes

Many times I work on them its often a dark silver metallic color, and once again black fluid is from burnt fluid, clutch material and oxidation.

I challenge you go find a transmission with burnt oxidized fluid that you claim to be metal and put your magnet to it to clean that fluid on video, lets see that fluid turn nice and red again.
Everytime I clean magnets the material is black as pitch.

Make sure under the radiator support the wiring harness is in tact and not damaged.

Also another common failure point on Neon's is the solenoid pack on top of the transmission, it is an easy job you just need to clean it thoroughly before removal. This is probably the most common failure point which is a lot of reasons why Neons were junked because mechanics claim the transmissions are bad which in reality it is just the solenoid pack.
So update. I had the solenoid pack or shift solenoid replaced last week. Shifting into drive or reverse has a delay that I don't previously remember. Within 20 minutes the cel came on again. If I'm easy on the gas and accelerator it will shift fine but feels down on power. If I accelerate quickly I get a noticeable clunk from 1st to 2nd gear. I have twice now had the speedometer randomly stop working then come back. I took it back as I initially expected the shift solenoid to fix the issues. Two of the cel codes are gone two are new and Dodge specific. I'm hoping that the transmission isn't toast. Any other suggestions? Thanks.

The speedometer dropping out means you have a wiring issue with the output speed sensor or a the actual sensor is faulty.
Ok good to know. I've never seen this happen before. It just happened randomly this past week.

Do you have any insight into what the Dodge specific cel "Solenoid not in the lu position " means?
