So here on BITOG, we live in a sort of Bitubble. The plebians outside of bitog do not live as we do, obsessing over intervals and viscosities.

No, my friends, outside of our Bitubble, we have people who drive with no tire and literally scrape entire apartment complex parking lots with rim guts.

There are multiple white trails in the parking lot, as if kids dragged chalk in and out of the apartment lot 4 or 5 times.

When I worked at Sears about 20 years ago a guy pulled in one day in a Delta 88 on 4 wheels.

Was a u shape shop, entrance, turn left and an "aisle" like 150ft and another left for the exit.
He just pulled in, which wasn't normal. Customers were supposed to stop in the entrance and go to the waiting room.

Anyhow stops by me, I was the only one in the shop that morning.

Asked if we had any used tires and if I could mount them.
Yes, but the wheels were completely trash, the rims were splayed out like 90*.

"Ohhhh. Ok" and just drove out like it was completely normal.

Was almost as bad as the lady with a daycare that accused me of trying to rip her off because I said the twine holding the tie rod end on the pitman arm was beyond unsafe.

Van full of kids too.

Had it been now, I'd have blasted the hell out of the daycare on Facebook.

It had come in for tires, everything was so worn in the front end it's amazing it was drivable never mind that it chewed up tires.

Provided they reached their destination on time call it a win... I will give them a thumbs up for driving skill and determination! I've driven a car when the front tire let go at 45 mph and it was a handful for a bit, can only imagine that thing chewing apart.
