The struts on our 2008 Chevrolet Uplander are shot. Supposedly all 2008 Uplanders came standard with StabiliTrak electronic stability. Does this have electronic valving in the struts/shocks, or is it just a function of the ABS? I'm so pleased with the Sensen struts in the Maximustang, that I will be buying themk for the Chebby too.

Get quick struts. They're awesome.

Also, there is a rebate promotion until the end of April when you buy 4 shocks and/or struts. So if you're going to replace the front struts, replace the rear shocks too.

KYB has a $40 rebate
Monroe's rebate is $90 for 2 quick struts and 2 shocks
Gabriel's rebate is 20% (max rebate $125)

BUT since Gabriel doesn't make quick struts for your car, that leaves Monroe and KYB.

My recommendation would be KYB quick struts up front and Gas-a-Just in the rear.

When did you install the Sensens on the Maxima? Chinese shocks/struts are junk that rarely if ever last beyond 10k. And Sensen doesn't make quick struts for your van, either.

And like others said, stabilitrak has nothing to do with the suspension.

Not interested in quick struts I'm capable of swapping the OEM springs onto new struts. I really tire of blanket statements about Chinese products. Unless you have first hand experience with Sensen, as I do, please do not parrot the Chinese dooms day garbage. The struts on the max have been on for nearly 10k with exemplary service. I can get Sensen for all 4 corners for $140 free shipping.

If you see an electrical cable connected to the strut, you have an electronic suspension. If there are no cables, you don't have an electronic suspension.

Most stability controls only use ABS brakes and traction control. In AWD vehicles it also includes varying the amount of torque split between the front and rear wheels.

Sensen is not always bad, though it might depend on the car...

Depends on the road too. One of my co worker's daughter put sensens and FCS struts on their sunfire...the pot hole filled roads here ate them alive just after 5k, and one of the rear sensen struts broke due the roads...

In places were the roads are still good, even the chinese struts will last a while....

Give them time to show their true colors.

At what point would you be satisfied they are not junk? Are they allowed to fail at 150K? or would that be showing their "true colors"?

This was my mileage 16 days prior to installation, 289,000.

I'm now at 309,516 miles. That's 20,516 miles plus whatever I drove in those 16 days, on the struts now.
