Need recommendations on a heavy duty garden hose

I have a few Goodyear (now Continental) black rubber hoses like they sell at Home Depot. Incredibly flexible even in cold weather, have good brass fittings, and middle-of-the-road price. The only downside is that they don't tolerate twist very well and tend to kink. I keep them on hose reels, and that pretty much eliminates that problem.

Gilmour Flexogen is less prone to kink, but ages a bit faster. After a season or two it gets to be REALLY stiff in the winter. The Farm/Contractor hose they sell is by far the best, but you pay a lot for it.

Millions of kids growing up drank from hoses. I was one of them. Just run the hot water out and you get nice cold hose-tasting water!
